Senior Management and The Board - MEGA Thread

Just one sour note for me. I’m not a fan of BOF. I think he’s a lightweight and his naivety in going down for the Grange affair was middle management stuff. Ex-premiers are not gods, they are competent political operatives. Just look at the idiot who’s about to become QLD Premier.
Love all the rest of the moves, particularly Richo but i’d prefer a chair who had gravitas.
The role of the Chairman is a statesman and political role. A politician is uniquely qualified for it. I understand people concerned with BOF, particularly if they are Labor voters but to have a politician as a Chairman makes sense and at least he is a die in the wool Tiger.

Let’s see if Lee throws his toys or not.
Doubt they will have much of an issue with Richo around. It could be a marketing dream given how much media press the club will get over the next 6-12mths especially if they nab Luai.

Getting a sponsorship should be the least of our problems, get a winning team or even a competitive team and we will get sponsors

Lee's role as Chairman was that of a statesman.

He just couldn't help himself, he was always stating shit when he should have been keeping his mouth shut.

Hopefully, but he should also have to apply for his job.
That would be the most Wests Tigers thing ever. They finally land a bloke capable of doing the job, who has demonstrated experience of completely rebuilding three clubs from laughing stocks to competitive with two of them winning the premiership within his reign and then losing him because they told him he has to re-apply for his job. Probably replace him with Longmuir.

The new board to set a number of requirements for the role and determine whom best meets those requirements.
Rebuilding three basket cases into top 4/premiers isnt a requirement?

Jobs shouldn't just fall into laps because of history
of course, lets not worry about people who have proven that they are capable, lets employ someone who talks a good game.

Talking about the Board here - how would they have been punted? It was an independent review with non-binding recommendations.

Holman Barnes could do what they please, including ignoring the recommendations... in fact, including smothering the recommendations which were not required to be made public. Private review for a privately-run organisation.

So to that extent, Holman Barnes absolutely had the power to appoint themselves. They've been doing it ever since they existed.
You seem to be highly educated on the topic.

Can I ask, what would have happened if, say, Tony Andreacchio or Dennis Burgess or any other board member refused to step down?
