Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Although Maguire is the younger coach, I actually prefer Bennett as an option.

It's hard to see Bennett coaching after his next appointment, so I'd be comfortable he wasn't going to jump ship and use us as a stepping stone.

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Napa would be good, i could see Newcastle going after him as well as us. Well, I for one hope the Knights get him. He'd be useless for us. So getting a hard running, hard hitting, intimidating front rower is surplus to our needs? Wow! One who brain snaps far too often, gives away cheap penalties an...

Re: Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

Its pretty much game, set, match Gould unfortunately. He may be a slug but he's no dummy. If Ivan signs for 2021 he knows we will have to replace Ivan so that puts the Panthers in the box seat to wait it out. We will have to get a new coach ASAP if we want any future signings. Gould will just wait ...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Hopefully Martin Toupou to Easts meaning they have to release JWH for WT to sign. We need JHW aggression and metres that Packerlino lack. Also need Josh Aloiai to have a break through year as he was quite ordinary this year. We need a second rower to submit a performance like Felise Koufusi against...

Not sure how I feel about this signing.

Whenever I've seen him, he looks like he has no impact.
You must be watching at the wrong times then
I must be. As with all players, I'm happy to be proven wrong.

2. Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

May have been mentioned already in this monster of a thread, but apparently Tigers have Trent Merrin on their radar.

Re: Salary Cap Rorting | Ideas on a Potential Solution

Why cant the NRL introduce a system along the lines of Super Coach or a points rated system if a players value increases during the year he stays on his original value until his contract expires if he wishes to opt out of his contract the present value kicks in could stop the current situation were...

Salary Cap Rorting | Ideas on a Potential Solution

I've often thought about how you stop cap rorting or at least minimise the impact it has on the competition. We've seen so many instances of clubs over the cap in the last 10 years and it doesn't seem to be changing. They're not taking it seriously. The problem, I believe, is with the players and we...

Re: **Live game thread**

I believe that we give up big leads because we don’t have a game plan to suit. For instance, if you look at our games this year, the ones where we’ve copped plenty of points are the ones where the opposing team plays an up tempo game out of dummy half. We tend to hit the lead and try to “manage the ...

Re: First time no more losses then wins since 2011

Unfortunately for us this year, the bottom teams are so far off the pace. It's unusual to see 3 or 4 teams battle out a wooden spoon - for the most part, it's 2 teams fighting it out and the others are pretty close together. It just means teams 5-8 have more wins than usual, because teams 12-16 have...

Re: Will the Wests Tigers make the 2018 finals?

I'm cheering the team on, but I think we're done this year. Put it down to the 2 games against Parra and Newcastle. There's still a chance the Broncos will lose to the Roosters and we win our next 2. With 1 match to play, anything could happen, however we have a tough final match against Souths. The...

Re: Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

We should know the answer in November . If NC signs a long term contract with Penrith then IC will probably join him eIther 2019 or 2020. The thing I can’t get my head around is why a club like Penrith would be thinking to put so much focus on resigning NC to get IC or the other way around. Geez he...
