Re: Ivan Cleary donates Kidney..

The more I hear about this man, the more I admire him. No wonder he has attracted players to our Club, even though we are well below the standard all supporters would wish for. Ivan is NOT a talker, he is a doer and I hope this trait is something that everyone in he Club will strive to emulate. This...

Re: HAPPY THAT OUR COACH IS IVAN CLEARY

I agree with the idea of 5 in the bin for repeated infringements. I would take it a step further and go with the soccer approach that you get a yellow card when you get 5 in the bin and if you get 2 in one game you are sent off and you get an automatic suspension. You would also get an automatic su...

HAPPY THAT OUR COACH IS IVAN CLEARY

I read the following article this morning:- http://www.msn.com/en-au/sport/rugby-league/comment-nrl-finals-shane-flanagans-referee-complaints-do-little-for-his-team-after-premiership-defence-ends/ar-AArDQqX?li=AA54yd&ocid=spartandhp After reading this well-written article, I thought about Ivan Clear...

Re: Thank you ivan

I think the difference with Ivan Cleary is that he is not simply a coach, but he is a very shrewd mentor, as well. I would like to ask Ivan, what was behind his selection of Matt Eisenhuth to accompany him to the Press Conference after the match. I am sure it was part of a ploy to signal to Matt tha...

Sabre, I suggest you read the following, which I posted on another thread a few days ago. https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/jarryd-hayne-nrl-eels-titans-form-nathan-hindmarshs-brutal-assessment-on-matty-johns-show/news-story/30badd8b772268cb1f11445a737faaac After reading this critique...

This is the best summary of Hayne's ability and lack of application.

Re: Chris Lawrence and injuries

In my eyes, Chris Lawrence is a club legend, who is as good as any role model for young people. Hopefully, he has a long-term future at the Club.

Re: Brett Hodgson - assistant coach 2018

I thought Brett started in third grade/Under 23's, as a half-back. I remember one of his early games at Campbelltown, if not his debut, Wests Magpies won a scrum about 30 metres out on our left hand side. He ran around the scrum base to the blind side and cut through to score without having a hand p...

Re: Did you start supporting the Wests Tigers before the merger or after?

In 1948, My father took me to my first Western Suburbs Magpies game at Pratten Park, Ashfield. We used to arrive before the Third Grade match, which started at 12 noon. We always sat on the western side of the ground on half-way in the back row of seats. There was a group of adults, who became frien...

Re: Justin Pascoe lifts lid on Wests Tigers issues

gday all, Not sure if anyone remembers this , but when Marina GO had first come on the scene (about 3 years ago) she had come out and said that the club was in a really bad way and will continue be for the next 3 or so years. This year (2017) is the last year of all that , and she was totally right...

Re: Our club is unprofessional, how do you disagree?

YYYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It may have been up until the last six months or so, but the new Board and the Senior Management have made massive improvements since that time.
The proof of the tremendous work done from the start of the year will be displayed in the results of next season.

Re: Justin Pascoe lifts lid on Wests Tigers issues

I think anyone with half a brain can realise that the blame sits fairly and squarely with the players and managers, and media for beating it up as requested by the managers. I think Pascoe in particular has sat there with very much gritted teeth, mumbling under his breath and seething inside, just ...

Re: James Tedesco...Contract Thread..

I can't see why you can't have a longer COP. Presumably, a COP of 10 days is a minimum term in all playing contracts but we know it can be waived by the player - see Nofo. Similarly, the contract could be drafted with a longer COP. Im not saying it happened but I can't see any reason why it couldn'...

Re: Who can play at 6??

Give Mapesone a try. He's been in the system for a few years,if he doesn't cut it,at least we'll know I do not think he would have any trouble improving our attack, once Ivan Cleary has worked with him for a few weeks. He has good vision! He has good pace! He can tackle! He can kick goals! He will ...

Re: Any up and coming halves?

I think Viera Mapesone is a player that Ivan Cleary could transform into a good five-eight. His profile reads:- After two strong seasons with the Club’s Holden Cup side, Veiru makes the transition into the senior grades for 2017. Not afraid to take on the line, Veiru is a talented playmaker who will...

Re: Jason Taylor - Fox interview

I made some comments about Jason Taylor on this Forum about twelve months ago. I have a relative, who works at the Club. He has always spoken most highly about Jason and said there was more to him than most people often saw. I was not surprised by his performance on League Life. Good luck to Jason i...

Re: Passion - Wests Tigers Heart and Soul

We lack a decent playing roster That's how simple it is Don't overcomplicate it , and I reckon they realize now they are in for the season from hell Its gonna get worse this year , you blokes do realize that ?? I watched another debacle again today. I do not think that the signing of the ...... so-...

Re: Tim Simona - Deregistered

I might be in the minority however I just hope he is ok.His career is over and that is enough punishment. The things he was doing speak of a desperate man with some mental issues and addictions. Obviously it's shocking from a Tigers point of view and there is a part of me that is angry. However I w...
