Re: Auburn Warriors to fold due to failed Mehajer sponsorship

What a sad day for the club, which was formed in 1953. I played Under 18's for them in 1958, when they were in the Western Suburbs Junior League competition. Work, part-time University (and some lack of ability) forced me give it away in 1959.

Re: Moses Suli

Boo hoo! Yep - and you keep trying to convince your self its a good thing for the club to lose talented players to other clubs. No not at all. I don't have to convince myself of anything because Wests Tigers haven't 'lost' anything. You just don't get it do you? Wests Tigers have gained not lost. Y...

Re: Lolohea

I'll just leave this here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ya7y6cIf5E I think that this confirms a lot of peoples concerns around Tui. After making the break, positioning RTS well and setting up the match winning try, he was not in the first 4 or 5 players to congratulate RTS. Obviously a fitnes...

Re: Shaun Spence doing great things

What a great story! There would be some doubt that this type of thing would have happened a few years ago, so it says lots about the "new" Wests Tigers under the current management regime. No-one could have predicted the very impressive change in the culture at the Tigers. Congratulations to Shaun a...

Many thanks for your great quality work on this forum. As one of the older members and contributors, I find this forum well-managed and controlled and as such, the most pleasant forum on the net. Re: David Nofoaluma plays through the pain for Wests Tigers

What a shame we let Rankin go mid-season..Nofoaluma could have went under the knife..then he wouldn't of finished 4th in NRL, Total Metres, 3rd in NRL, Offloads, 5th in NRL, Tackle Breaks and been the only Wests Tigers player to play every game.. Hopefully the surgery works well and he has an injur...

Re: AN EMOTIONAL Benji Marshall has opened up on his rollercoaster rugby league career & the return “home” to Wests Tig

The only possible negative I can see is if he gets too tied up in the media crap again. Prodigal son returns..... The flip side is the exposure the club gains. Yeah I agree. There are plenty of positive PR possibilities. I think the club needs to keep an eye on things though so no individual distra...

Re: Our immediate future

I may be talking complete crap here but it appears to me that the one consistent thing Ivan Cleary recruited for was attitude. All of his selections want to play and all are prepared to have a go. They won't die wondering. A word that was overused in the 90's was synergy, but it is a good word for ...

Re: Why Roosters?

My opinion on the Roosters is there are a GREEDY organisation..this goes way past wanting to win .This type of behaviour does no one any good the code the NRL and the diminishing fan base that the league has to stop bleeding ,if the NRL think that this type of rortng is ok they are dreaming ....the...

Re: Ivan Cleary donates Kidney..

The more I hear about this man, the more I admire him. No wonder he has attracted players to our Club, even though we are well below the standard all supporters would wish for. Ivan is NOT a talker, he is a doer and I hope this trait is something that everyone in he Club will strive to emulate. This...

Re: HAPPY THAT OUR COACH IS IVAN CLEARY

I agree with the idea of 5 in the bin for repeated infringements. I would take it a step further and go with the soccer approach that you get a yellow card when you get 5 in the bin and if you get 2 in one game you are sent off and you get an automatic suspension. You would also get an automatic su...

HAPPY THAT OUR COACH IS IVAN CLEARY

I read the following article this morning:- http://www.msn.com/en-au/sport/rugby-league/comment-nrl-finals-shane-flanagans-referee-complaints-do-little-for-his-team-after-premiership-defence-ends/ar-AArDQqX?li=AA54yd&ocid=spartandhp After reading this well-written article, I thought about Ivan Clear...

Re: Thank you ivan

I think the difference with Ivan Cleary is that he is not simply a coach, but he is a very shrewd mentor, as well. I would like to ask Ivan, what was behind his selection of Matt Eisenhuth to accompany him to the Press Conference after the match. I am sure it was part of a ploy to signal to Matt tha...

Re: Brett Hodgson - assistant coach 2018

I thought Brett started in third grade/Under 23's, as a half-back. I remember one of his early games at Campbelltown, if not his debut, Wests Magpies won a scrum about 30 metres out on our left hand side. He ran around the scrum base to the blind side and cut through to score without having a hand p...

Re: Did you start supporting the Wests Tigers before the merger or after?

In 1948, My father took me to my first Western Suburbs Magpies game at Pratten Park, Ashfield. We used to arrive before the Third Grade match, which started at 12 noon. We always sat on the western side of the ground on half-way in the back row of seats. There was a group of adults, who became frien...
