Re: Round 12 Spoilers

Dragons result puts our game against Panthers in some perspective? We were pretty ordinary last week but held them to less points and with a sin-bin.

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Thing about Woodsie, if you took him back, Dogs would have to fork some of the contract value. You'd probably end up on top, as it would be a smaller contract than you were offering him when he left.

Martin for the cowboys is hopeless we lost nothing in letting him go
he needs to go from 2 weetbix per morning to four...
Has he lost pace? Used to be a bit of a springbok but seems hampered this year.

Re: Missing Tackles have no correlation to Conceding Points

Ink and Milky nailed it any way- scarmbling defense can't be considered a good defense. Why not? I would have felt any defence that keeps points out is a good one? I think a controlled, cohesive defense that contributes to winning the ruck is better, an attacking defense that forces oppositions int...

There was talk that brad Arthur over bulked the pack over the off season. With that extra bulk they lost the aggressive mobility that they had.

Re: Eels and Tigers keen to open new stadium

Hmm I don't recall St George-Illawarra playing in 1986... Pretty hard for 3 teams to play in the same game Doesn't that stink for old Steelrs fans, basically taken over and forgotten. I know the odd commentator still says Balmain, but many more call us Wests now, so both teams still well-remembered...

Re: Don't love the change at fullback

Yep because James Tedesco, Josh Dugan, Michael Gordon, RTS, Josh Wighton, Alex Johnston and Matt Duffy are all noted ball players. This nonsense of the modern fullback being a ball player is a fallacy. I've just named you seven fullbacks out of the sixteen clubs that aren't ball players. It's deter...

Re: Passing into players around the ruck.

They should not have made it a penalty, because as noted the refs will need to interpret intent. There's going to be an instance where a player legit passes the ball and it hits someone, and refs might call a penalty anyway. It certainly discourages attempts to milk the penalty. But really they shou...

Re: The Transformation is Complete

That's funny, if a winning culture is 6 wins from 11, then Tigers have one now too.

Did Tigers get better because Tedesco left, and Roosters worse because he joined? They were 2nd last year.

Re: Missing Tackles have no correlation to Conceding Points

I wouldn't say there's no correlation? There appears a fairly obvious line running diagonally from bottom left to top right, i.e. generally speaking the more tackles you miss the more points you concede (what you would expect). But there are obvious outliers like Tigers, Panthers, Bulldogs, Knights ...

Re: Don't love the change at fullback

The issue I have with Thommo, which I have stated before, is he is not much of a threat in attack set pieces. Good on support, good with a jinking run against a staggered line, takes smart options, but he has limited physical threat in the backline. He doesn't kick and he doesn't have a slick pass. ...

Farah's Thread went for just over 300 pages but there was a bit of merging involved...Lortay while it may have seemed lik...

Re: Aaron Woods

Woods will kill us.....he’s a very good player. Not sure where his offload has gone....we wouldn’t of won a game without him last year, carried our pack. I would have him back at half price. Woods has 21 offloads this year, that's a fair amount? Haven’t seen him do any for past few games? Have you ...
