Re: Passing into players around the ruck.

They should not have made it a penalty, because as noted the refs will need to interpret intent. There's going to be an instance where a player legit passes the ball and it hits someone, and refs might call a penalty anyway. It certainly discourages attempts to milk the penalty. But really they shou...

Ink and Milky nailed it any way- scarmbling defense can't be considered a good defense.
Why not?

I would have felt any defence that keeps points out is a good one?

Re: The Transformation is Complete

That's funny, if a winning culture is 6 wins from 11, then Tigers have one now too.

Did Tigers get better because Tedesco left, and Roosters worse because he joined? They were 2nd last year.

Re: Missing Tackles have no correlation to Conceding Points

I wouldn't say there's no correlation? There appears a fairly obvious line running diagonally from bottom left to top right, i.e. generally speaking the more tackles you miss the more points you concede (what you would expect). But there are obvious outliers like Tigers, Panthers, Bulldogs, Knights ...

Re: Don't love the change at fullback

The issue I have with Thommo, which I have stated before, is he is not much of a threat in attack set pieces. Good on support, good with a jinking run against a staggered line, takes smart options, but he has limited physical threat in the backline. He doesn't kick and he doesn't have a slick pass. ...

LOL theres 701 pages of crap What's the record number of pages? The Lortay and Farah threads, didn't they go aroudn 1000? IIRC the Tuqiri thread was the first to hit 1000 pages. Farah's Thread went for just over 300 pages but there was a bit of merging involved...Lortay while it may have seemed lik...

Re: Aaron Woods

Woods will kill us.....he’s a very good player. Not sure where his offload has gone....we wouldn’t of won a game without him last year, carried our pack. I would have him back at half price. Woods has 21 offloads this year, that's a fair amount? Haven’t seen him do any for past few games? Have you ...

Re: Brooks admits defeat in Blues selection battle

If he got some descent ball from a proper hooker he might have been right!!!Everytime Elijah plays hooker we LOSE or have been lately... How can you have a good game when the defense pretty much knows which way Elijah is going to pass(0 threat)hospital balls all game for brooks...I love Elijah but ...

Re: Can Reynolds make a difference?

If he is played at 6 I think he will make a BIG difference. I'm worried about him playing 30 at hooker. We need his energy out wide...in one on ones in attack. I think that's one of my points - yeah Reynolds was blowing in his first game, but he was defending like a lunatic at hooker. Different pro...

Re: Aaron Woods

Id like to know who times the PTBs...what a mind numbing job that would be Do they have this stat for every player? Is it gauged by every PTB over every game? 100+ PTBs every game?...8 games a week. I really wonder about the accuracy of all these stats sometimes...NRL now has ''receipts'' (381 NQ-3...

Can Reynolds make a difference?

A lot of commentary around our losses lately are less about the defence and more about the attack. Both Benji and Brooks have seen their form fall away recently, not just with a forward pack that he been dominated a few times, but with their tactical kicking, team kick-chase and direct options / run...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

What are you hearing? He's hearing crickets, like the rest of us Holmes before 30th. Was at Hunter Valley Vineyards yesterday for LLL spotted a former Fijian born NRL centre, asked him straight up,” what’s Kev up too”, he said “Super League”, what’s in it for the Tigers ? I asked , he said “ winger...

Re: Aaron Woods

Question is about "killing momentum" is that he makes more metres, takes more hitups and plays the ball faster than RCG. RCG makes 50cm more on average per charge; they make the same post-contact metres as per run. So the question is, if Woods really is that slow, where is he slow compared to RCG? I...

Re: Aaron Woods

Gotta love all these media reports saying Woods should be in origin because of his stats. Woods can have his good games but far to often he kills momentum in a set. Teams found him out last year just by holding him up and letting him walk a few metres in reverse and they get a 20 second break and r...
