Re: What it means to be Wests Tigers..

I still find it kind of surprising that new players might not know or buy into the Wests and Balmain history, but I suppose it hearkens back to something I said the other day, that the kids being signed to the team now as juniors weren't even born before the JV. And then I wonder what it is really l...

Re: Mitchell Pearce

Harry still has been vetoed on private TPA's though since ceding sponsorship hasn't he? Think about how many Subbies Harry has on all those building sites, the NRL couldn't stop some or all of them providing TPA's. I think that Harry will kick some cash into the HT Centre of Excellence. Sorry, igno...

Re: Wests Tigers strengthen position in Macarthur region..

5 years ago this thread would be 150000 pages and locked by now. 4 pages and very few snarky comments leads me to believe that either: 1/ the joint venture is being embraced by all fans or 2/ hardcore balmain or wests fans have wandered off into the sunset EDIT: at one point I have to put my hand u...

Re: Mitchell Pearce

Frontloading jirskyr. Theyve been building for a premiership this year or next, that much is clear. They had that really thin year a couple of years ago. As sheens put it when we had our tilt in 2010/11. A watershed year. The problem is, we did it with backloading!! I'd love to know where exactly t...

Re: Mitchell Pearce

Some of you guys are like kids with new pocket money, so eager to spend it. Yes Pearce is a good footballer, yes he'd go straight into our team. Do we specifically need a halfback? No. Do we really want to get into a bidding war for a player in a position we don't need? Probably not. I personally th...

Re: Wests Tigers recruit Sam McIntyre happy to develop slowly

He mentions he trains 5 days a week sometimes six with Saturday's but its not too demanding Bloke is either coping well or he is used to far harder pre season training camps With our history I know which way I'm leaning I think he means not too demanding on his time, as in 6 days a week, rather tha...

Re: Wests Tigers strengthen position in Macarthur region..

For all you pro Balmain whingers That’s a quick way to get a lot of people off side. Anyway...it should be a good side. With possibility Benji, Gamble, Kev, MCK, Sue, Lawrence ect all having games for the Magpies next year. I personally would like our Reserves to be playing for the WestsTigers. Did...

Let me say as a former Balmain supporter, this doesn't annoy me at all. Magpies, Tigers, Balmain, Wests, all the same thing now. Call them the Camden Rams if you please.

Re: Nathan Cleary

We really cannot lose. If N Cleary keeps developing we are box-seat to offer a strong contract when he next comes off, because Brooks is ending about the same time and obviously the influence of his own Dad. If we don't go for or get N Cleary, the "Dad threat" forces Penrith to pony up substantially...

Re: Gibbs on the move again in journey

I like that we've cherry-picked some kids from other developmental areas. One of the things some fans have complained in our history is a reliance on our "home-grown" product. And whilst we've always considered that we have had a good local talent pool, you need to find other types of players from o...

Re: AN EMOTIONAL Benji Marshall has opened up on his rollercoaster rugby league career & the return “home” to Wests Tig

Honestly don't think any club will have a better half running around in ISP next year than Benji Marshall. Broncos were blessed to be able to call him up when Hunt then McCullough got injured and still play someone like that in the finals series.

Doesn't hurt either that Reynolds knows how to kick a pressure FG... coz Brooks certainly does not.

Re: MOYLAN MAYBE RELEASED ..

The Sharks still have salary cap space, which means their recruitment drive for 2018 is not over. Mitchell Pearce is currently on holidays with his future uncertain and plenty of clubs circling, despite the fact he’s not off contract at the Roosters. Flanagan would welcome the NSW incumbent halfbac...

Wow. $1M for Cronk I can understand, but $900K for Moylan is crazy IMO. He was just released by his old club after all.

People ask about what recruiting Tigers do outside of the club, it came up again a few weeks ago, here is a prime example. Tigers obviously didn't sit back when Gamble started to come on in ISC.

Re: Russell Packer emerges as shock captaincy candidate at Wests Tigers

Cleary makes an interesting few points on Reynolds. Firstly not just that they signed him because he had certain qualities (qualities that our club lacks) but that they don't want him to be "Tigers-ified", they want him to continue doing what he does and bring the team with him. Secondly, that most ...
