Re: Ivan Cleary opens up on Penrith return and controversial Tigers exit

Cleary claims in all seriousness that he intended to see out his contract. This is nonsense! Penrith and Cleary both knew that when Ivan told the Tigers he would sign with Penrith from 2021 that he had placed us in an impossible position. The Tigers would be forced to release him. He knew that. So, ...

Re: Hayne plane

Yoss, I made the Ivan Cleary thread in August. You said Gus was Zero chance of bringing him back and zero chance he left the Tigers for 2019 anyway. So I'm a little worried you declared Hayne "zero chance" of coming to the Tigers. I can only go by what people tell me. If you choose not to believe m...

Re: Tigers boss defends handling of the Cleary exit :Part 1

Winning PR battles. Haha. I get what you are saying but, really, like anyone will care at all when the seasons starts except some bitter Tigers fans =p I think IC and Penrith will be under pressure. If Penrith perform well, then you'r right, no one will care. But if they perform below expectations ...

Re: Tigers boss defends handling of the Cleary exit :Part 1

IMO, management signed the wrong bloke and sowed the seeds for a terrible situation. IC had a future superstar son playing first grade at another club when he joined us. History shows this is never a sustainable situation . Penrith were never, EVER going to let NC go. The chances of keeping IC here...

MM on nose at Parra, Tells you something
At a low cost, would be a good pick up for us.
Can't agree. I'd have Woods and Teddy back, but I draw the line at MM.

Re: NFL: BEST PHYSIQUE

Ian Roberts and Stephen Knight were 2 standouts. I know Steve Knight pretty well, he was the gym manager at the TAB Pyrmont office. Even as a 60 year old he had an amazing physique 6' 2" and 110 kgs of muscle. And he was a great bloke with some really funny stories. Steve Knight certainly stood out...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Agree. Probably worth 750k to 800k. No more at this stage. In your 80 years or so of supporting Balmain/ Wests/Wests Tigers have we ever had a great, and I emphasise great 1/2 back? Tommy R and G Freeman were good...... tough as nails, but Brooks has the ability to top them both by a long stretch. ...

Re: Justin Pascoe on 2ky 8am today

As i said in another post its a little too easy to hide behind the 'ill wait till its official' thing. Thats all well and good if you play nice and respect other peoples options. For some however its just a get out of jail free card to have a go at people. I was called all sorts of things, basicall...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

I can't believe fans here are still complaining about the signing of our new coach, Madge. I for one am glad the debacle is over and we can get on with the preseason and 2019 onwards. Yes, it was crap that Ivan betrayed the trust of many, but I'm not blaming management for that - in fact I think th...

Lodge? Are you serious?
He is a very good player who would toughen up our pack, as well as bring second phase play into our game.
He's a clown who burnt us before and brought shame to our reputation.
And even more to his own !

Re: Fans have right to ire over Cleary: Tigers

He's banked 5 years so he's laughing in that respect. It will be the last stop for him though if he has a godawful couple of seasons at Penrith and gets marched. Just glad the whole affair is over and while disruptive for our playing group and fanbase, we've come out of it better than what we went ...

Re: Our past is killing our future

I can't help to think that the many things that have happened in the past 7 seasons is killing ANY chance of us EVER becoming a consistent Top 8 side It is highly likely that as we enter season 2019 we will have our 6th coach in 8 seasons , even if Cleary stays it will be 5 and the 6th has clocked ...

The Roy Master's era with the Magpies is a highlight for me. I have never been more passionate and engaged in the team than I was over that period. They had a (justified) reputation for toughness, but they could play attractive footy when they wanted to as well.
