We can’t have Madge ‘locked down’ CB as that implies he’s signed a contract. Cleary is legally our coach until 2020.
Well, Manly just signed Hasler without Barrett leaving. What's the difference?
Really?
Barrett submitted his resignation letter.

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

This worries me. If true, it means that both Madge and Bennett do not want to come here. Therefore, Ivan’s contract stands and if he wants to go to Penrith, it will cost them $500k for us to release him. I don't read it that way at all. I think if true it's saying you created this mess, you want it...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Rothfiekd reported in the telegraph that WT Board has directed Pascoe not to release Cleary under any circumstances until minimum 1/2 million in compensation is paid. This worries me. If true, it means that both Madge and Bennett do not want to come here. Therefore, Ivan’s contract stands and if he...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Manly are looking at making Barrett work along side Des rather than releasing him. Smh Manly have no intention of paying out Trent Barrett, who will be made to continue working for his contract money long after Des Hasler is appointed as his replacement. Hasler’s return to the northern beaches on a...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

We’ve got some beauties on here. Our own fans bad mouthing the Tigers all based in ... nothing. The journos are having a picnic making stuff up with not just us but Broncos, Souths as well. Apparently, Bennett was going cold on us. Now he is warming to us. Also, Seibold has been interviewed for the ...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

I want super coach Bennett, either next year or 2020. I think he is a myth, the teams he has had success with have been brimming with talent. So if he comes he and doesn’t do any good he is a myth. If he comes he and gets us into the semis every year, then I’ll gladly admit to being wrong. You want...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

And ...
If we have to wait until 2020 to get the super coach let’s keep Cleary - even if it is to coach against his son a few more times next year.

We’ve waited this long for success, one more season doesn’t matter. I’m hearing the playing group want Bennett, too.

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Cleary is smart enough not to walk. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ When I thought he had some integrity I would have said Cleary wouldn't do that but we know that bird has flown. If I was WT and he does decide to play hardball I would: a) appoint a coach for 2019 an...

Re: POLL - Maguire 2019/Bennett 2020

I don’t know what the ‘real’ situation is BUT of the choice out of the two options available I went with Bennett. I would like to see what he could actually do to our team. I have said many times that I think the supercoach is a myth ... based on the playing roster he has had at the Broncos. Even th...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Just to murky the waters, Brent Read just commented that Wayne Bennett’s people were in talks with Wests Tigers. They have outlined Bennett’s terms. Brent Read says that timing is the big issue and that Bennett may want to come in 2020 so he thinks Cleary will be with us in 2019. Make of it what you...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

I still cannot understand the hysteria on here because Ivan is leaving when his contract is finished in 2 years time.. That is all that we have to go on at the moment, nothing more nothing less, the rest is speculation and emotions running high.. So what if Ivan coaches the Panthers in 2021,as long a...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Geez, some of you think that Ivan is going to a weaker club and will struggle? He’s not going to Penrith in 2 years time or earlier just to coach his son. He’s going to coach a powerhouse club. He wants a premiership just as much as his son and he knows he has a better chance at Penrith. I'm really...
