Re: Marwon Koucash rumoured Titans bid

The Gold Coast and sporting franchise have a very poor track record. If they go down the road of private ownership they will need a person with very deep pockets who needs somewhere to loose money. I don't know what any new owner could do to get the community behind the team, many have tried and all...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

2018 we will be competitive but introducing so many new players to the club is going to be a real hard ask and really I can't think of to many clubs who have recruited heavily that have had instant success. It also has to be remembered with the world cup being played is going to have a effect on the...

Re: Salary Cap

Thanks Geo, that is the way I thought it worked. So basically clubs that have good contacts in the big end of town have a massive advantage and of course most one team towns. Once again it highlights how uneven the current system i

Re: Salary Cap

If a player is contacted directly by a company to do TV commercial or become a company ambassador for a product that is not connected with the club or NRL, is that classes a TPA ?? I would have thought any restrictions on the above would be classed as a restraint of trade. Also it would be so easy ...

Re: Police reportedly called to Blake Ferguson's home

Guilty or not guilty he certainly drags his name through the mud regularly and his football club. Glad we missed his signature recently when he was negotiating a new contract

Re: Salary Cap

In a points system what are the prerequisites that are required for determining a merely good player from a top tier player? Each players grading would be a compilation of points inclusive of a base & variable loadings etc? Yes but does it discriminate based on certain attributes? Will a defensive ...

Re: MOYLAN MAYBE RELEASED ..

Look at Michael Lichaa the last couple of weeks when he was told he didn't have a contract. He came out of his shell and was the catalyst of their 3 game winning streak. Des had them on leashes. I think Reynolds will have a new lease of life next year. I still wouldn't rule out him being appointed ...

1..Hard to see the Storm not right up there in the hunt 2..Think the Cows will slip a little 3..Chooks have to be better with Teddy onboard 4..Sharks will not win it but be around the top four 5..Arthurs is a good coach, Parra will be top 5 6..You would think Titians,Dogs and Warriors will fight out...

Re: Salary Cap

$ = Corruption Until they reformat the Salary Cap so it is not based on $'s, clubs will rort the cap. Your right.... As I said we need a system in place where clubs can pay players what ever they want, but all players are ranked by a independent body and given value of X amount of points and each c...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

If Cronk plays for the Roosters next year without them dropping a bunch off their current roster, that will just highlight the inequities across clubs in the NRL. It may well be legal and technically within the rules but it makes a mockery of any notion of a level playing field. I love the game, bu...

Re: Wests Tigers confirm 2018 home game allocation

As I said before, if your worried about the bank balance, the best fix is a winning football team and to give away your home ground advantage to play the best team in the comp, tells me they don't share the same view as me. Sure take one game a year to the bush, interstate at a pinch and take the ga...

Re: Wests Tigers confirm 2018 home game allocation

Iam all for taking a game to Bathurst,Tamworth,Wagga or any other regional Rugby league playing area but to take a game versus the Storm to Auckland is crazy. It is certainly not a move that will encourage new memberships

Re: Heartland needs love

The NRL and its broadcasting partners have now made the game basically a TV game and the old days when you got maybe two or at very best three games a week on tele, you now can get every game live on your massive TV in stereo sound with your beer at Dan Murphy prices and your snacks at Aldi prices. ...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Till the NRL get 100% serious about the salary cap nothing much will change and I have my serious doubts they will ever have the ability to stop clubs from finding ways to supplement players wages. There are so many ways of indirectly paying players. Really the only way out is the NRL actually put a...

Its all about getting a good name out there in the market place and we sure have some repair work to do after what has happened in the past. Having a good name helps attract good press that intern helps attract players and commercial partners. Also you never slam the door in a departing players face...

Re: Heartland needs love

Most of my friends support teams that are not located in the area they live. The teams they support are the teams that they jumped on at a very early age, usually the winning team at the time, or they inherited a team from their mum or dad. Although it would be nice to have one fortress we could cal...

Re: Heartland needs love

We need a winning team and than we can play at Cambo or where ever, but to get a winning team we need to get a healthy bank balance and to get a healthy bank balance we have to play this nomad game. Rugby league crowds are made up of 20% hard core tragic supporters and the rest are good time charlie...
