Don't mind this. I'm happy with Brooks.
Are we guaranteed to get him? Cupboard starts to look at bit bare if Brooksy moves on.

Re: New coach.. Who should we target?

Wow - when you look at the field, it is really pretty slim pickings.

I think our best outcome would be to extend Cleary for a year or two and see who is available after that. It would set us back years if we were forced to take a second or third tier coach.

Re: Nathan Cleary

I’m so over this s***. We have an awesome halfback - re-sign him to a long deal. Fix the roster and get some decent bloody players. Extend Ivan or piss him off. One or the other. Oh and Justin, don’t go on holidays until this is all done! I dont get this mindset...I know all the talk and theories a...

Re: Nathan Cleary

I can’t see it yet in Cleary. He looks to have adequate passing, kicking game with good defence but in the big games (Origin and semi-finals) I haven’t got any sense he is worth 1M+. I said it before, I have seen many next big things that kind of plateau and just can’t go that extra gear. I do get a...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

I’m happy to be told I’m wrong but I’m a little disappointed in Esan. He relies too much on delicate footwork to break the line. I never see him hit the line at speed or try to beat his man on the outside. Now he’s done some good things this year, but is not the attacking force I thought he’d be. J...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Can we add his Uncle to the coaching staff as well please Is that Terry hap? Yeah After he had that training mishap in England and lost his finger he fell off the map coaching wise Many were tipping him to be an NRL coach Another Bennett disciple And one of the game true nice guys Auburn Benedicts ...

Re: Luke Brooks

I think that if we had a couple of Burgess boys who provided a decent roll on and space for the DH and the halves to play, this would be a moot conversation. Brooks played as well as he was allowed to and Robbie was good when he came on board.

Re: Farah and Marshall to play on in 2019

The signing of Marshall as back up 6 puts to bed any hopes that N Cleary will be released to play for tigers in 2019 Steve, I never thought for one minute that N Cleary would be released next year to anyone. As for Farah and Marshall re-signing for one more year, it does not fill me with excitement...

Re: Farah set to play on after agreeing to terms

My point is more without them this year how many games would we have won? Marshall and Farah have winning % of over 55% this year when in the team. Imagine having Gamble at 6 for 20 games? We wouldn't have won 5 of our last 8 without Farah. We were horrible at hooker in the mid season. I think they...

Perhaps Drinkwater at 1/2 and Brooks 5/8 might work if Cleary stays put at Penrith.
One of the better suggestions I’ve read here. I actually thought Drinkwater might have filled in at hooker when we struggling.

Re: Is Nathan Cleary really worth getting for $1 million?

Purely and simply this is a gamble. Nathan is good but at 1M, your sort of buying potential- you could hit the jackpot like Ponga but also turn up with rocks. I think his price is so high because of his age, people are thinking in a couple of years, you may have Cooper Cronk on your hands but then a...

Re: Coaching circus

It would take a brave man to walk out on an NRL coaching gig if he doesn’t have another lined up, they aren’t exactly easy to come by. Especially a rookie coach. Walking out/ giving up doesnt really look good on the resume No experienced coach will take the gig at Penrith with Gussy looking over th...

Re: New coach.. Who should we target?

Does anyone know how Hodgo is going? He has had a highly disrupted year in terms of players and has had reasonable results. Not saying he is ready for the first grade gig yet but he would probably see himself doing it at some stage.

Re: Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

Wouldn't surprise me if an extension for Ivan is being looked at ...for a guy who has a 45% win record and whist improvements have been made hasn't really proven anything..... would mean we have learnt nothing from Sheens when ironically the same club courted him we shat ourselves and extended only...

Re: Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

People say Ivan wont play under Gould. I say if Ivan goes to Penrith then Gould steps aside. His 5 year contract just means a bigger payout for the grub when he pulls the pin. There is no way known that Gus will stand aside for a coach. He is becoming the Denis Fitzgerald like figure (Emperor of Pa...
