Re: Realistic team list round 1 2018

Yes my team was What I think would be realistic I would prefer Tui Nofo Marsters Milne Thomson Reynolds Brooks Packer Godinet Mats Aloiai Lawrence Eisenhuth Twal Benji A second rower who can also play in the middle (probably Rochow) Grant I'd be tempted to start ET at 9, Rochow in the second row and...

Re: This team has forgotten how to play football.

This is fair criticism. We marched upfield ok at the end of last year, but looked lost in the opposition 20. Same thing looks possible to start the season, It would be ok if we could limit the opposition to 3 tries or less, but we regularly concede that in 20 minutes before getting back on track. Ha...

Re: Trial Match v Cronulla Sharks *LIVE Thread

I wouldn’t Judge the halves in trials. NRL teams don’t ever play to their structures in the trials absolutely never. Coaches are not dumb enough to give away their shapes before round 1. I don’t want to give away our plays in the offseason so we can feel good about they year ahead. Flanagan must be...

Re: Realistic team list round 1 2018

Ok, that's all we'll get to see so based on everything I think we will get: 1. Thompson 2. Nofo 3. Marsters 4. Kev 5 MWZ 6. Reynolds 7. Brooks 8. Packer 9. McIllwrick 10. Matulino 11. Taylor 12. Lawrence 13. Eisenhuth 14. Benji 15. Twal 16. Aloiai 17. Rochow/grant/sue not what I would necessarily wa...

Re: Trial Match v Cronulla Sharks *LIVE Thread

The less Reynolds tries to do things himself the more value we will get out of him.

I'm glas we didn't complete the comeback, a wake up call for fans and some of the players before things get serious.

Re: Benji (Mark 2)

A more consistent kicking game. A more selective running game (due to a drop in pace) and he was always good at setting others up, so less passes over the grandstand while still finding the gaps for runners. These 3 things would be an onfield pass, notwithstanding I'm happy he's back for other reaso...

Re: What is Brooks best position

He never combined well with Moses in FG, that was a catalyst for his developing game stalling in my opinion. Watching the highlights reiterates that for me. Maybe because they were coached to play L and R? Maybe some other reason, I don't know. Anyone who didn't see some potential in him at the end ...

Re: What is Brooks best position

In the recent trial I criticised him because I didn't think he had great impact, but I complemented his effort, which stood out. We will need more than effort from round 1 but this is a massive year for the club and not just Luke, His position is 7. No one else is close. Reynolds is a 6, or 9 at a p...

Re: Cleary’s selection shake-up..

Everything looks and feels good before a ball is kicked. If we get whipped 36-6 in Round 1 thought all these things they are talking about wont mean much. The closer the season comes the more I think like this. I don't think we will get pumped, but any type of loss could set off a storm here. As si...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Twal is a lot of things, but one thing he isn't is an impact player. Gave me a chuckle. I guess we see it differently. You may well be correct if Alex can bring out his passing game, of which the only time that I recall seeing one was when DCE intercepted to stop a certain try, but from what he has...

Re: Realistic team list round 1 2018

Why is everyone prepared to play people out of their best positions to accommodate players that probably are not as good as them in t he first place. E.g. Lolo to centre (which he isn't) so Gamble can play Full back? Reynolds to DH (which he isn't) so Gamble can play 5/8. Brooks to DH (which he isn...

I'll be calling for the Coaches head if Gamble is not there by Rd 2..

And if he picks Naiqama in the centres he's lost me for good..

I was impressed with Mikaele earlier he runs viciously. He and Marsters have to be signed.
Thomas looked like he belonged, as has JJ for the first time in a long while.
Agreed, very pleased for JJ.

Re: Wests Tigers v Cowboys trial match *LIVE,,

Was clearly not switched on, maybe annoyed after not starting, could see it just before they ran out for the second half. I'd rule him out for round 1 based on tonight.
