Re: Marshall at fullback

I'd actually like to see Marika have a shot at fullback. 90 metre tries would be impossible against him. Seems to have a good aerial game. Like, gee whiz Batman, he's an incredible athlete. Give him the extra run up and let him rip. We'd gain a few extra metres off the kick return too. Think about i...

Re: UTAI - I NEED HELP TO UNDERSTAND

I want to know who it was that saw a 5 foot tall 100kg bloke and said "yeah, I'll put him on the wing". That guy must be pretty funny. Having said that he doesn't go too bad. I prefer him in the centres though. His whole ducking and weaving thing works best in the middle of the pitch - and that's ki...

Re: Our forward pack vs. Storm pack

They employ a sort of 'citadel' policy at the Storm. They pool all their resources into 3 core players and fill the rest of the team with virtual unknowns. But somehow they have an endless list of unknowns at the Storm who can all step up when required. They're all average players - even Cronk isn't...

Re: Best Laugh in years

Too few players making too many tackles. The reason Melbourne's defence is so solid is because they spread the workload. Get BMM on the treadmill and turn him into a ball-playing, tackling machine. Whatever's wrong with Anasta - fix that too.

Re: Vomit inducing coverage

I mean, they complain about free to air TV being unprofitable, and then the mindless PR cretins decide that it's a good idea to drive away as many viewers as possible by Americanising the coverage and commercialising the s*** out of it, knowing that the audience doesn't have a choice. Instead of bey...

Vomit inducing coverage

Regarding Channel Nine. Holy crap it's the most cringe-worthy thing I've ever seen. What in god's name was the deal with that "thought mic" they had going on Sonny Bill? Were we supposed to think they were actually reading his thoughts? And for that matter, who is even interested in what he thinks? ...

Re: Who will be the next Blues coach?

I read in article just yesterday that he was already earning 500k. I'd rather have Fittler than Laurie. Please god don't let it be Laurie. I mean, I'm sure he's a nice guy.. but maybe took a few too many high shots in his career.. his nose should give you some indication of how often he's been batte...

Who will be the next Blues coach?

So there's all this buzz about him joining the NRL next season, probably with Canberra. It's looking like an 80% chance of happening but I don't think we've heard anything from the man himself yet. If he does move on, who do you think is set to replace him? Will they resurrect Wayne Pearce or someth...

Re: West Coast Pirates Perth NRL side named

It's a better name than "Melbourne Storm" - that's a netball name if I've ever heard one. Call me old fashioned - but NRL mascots should only ever be animals. Even Newtown calling themselves the Jets was too fancy for my likening. I don't care if it's a bunny-rabbit, or an eel, or a chicken. I'd ral...

Re: The bond that ties Farah and Marshall

As far as I'm aware Robbie isn't religious.

His personal strength and the support of those around him will get him through. Just as it would for anyone, religious or not

Re: Hey have you heard about this show called 'The Voice'?

Yeah but some of us don't want to pay 60 bucks a month just to avoid product-placement. With the internet these days, pay TV is kind of obsolete. Gone are the days when you're at the mercy of TV scheduling. Plus you can just watch the foxtel matches on the internet. And despite the corporate whoring...

Re: Hey have you heard about this show called 'The Voice'?

nah, there's a point Do you think there are maybe a few endorsements we could shear off here and there? I mean, what's a 20 second in-commentary cross-promotion earn us? Is it worth the loss of integrity? Not to mention it's just downright annoying And also I'm concerned we're in a position where th...

Hey have you heard about this show called 'The Voice'?

Apparently it's the show that Australia can't stop talking about. You might have missed it, because it's not advertised very much. I only heard about it because I heard Ray Warren talk about how good it was and how much he thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and Gus agreed. Now, I'm a footy fan and don'...

Re: Tigers shattered at Farah's loss

Robbie's said before that Football has been a way for him to escape lately, and he's put in some exceptional performances through all this. Maybe getting back into footy might help his spirits a little. Origin will be really tough for him.. I think the fact that it was the last game she saw him play...

What the hell did Butterfingers Bird do that was more impressive than breaking the Origin tackling record? 16 runs and 24 tackles? Robbie does that before breakfast

Re: Jacob Miller

I think there are definitely a few teams in the NRL where he'd make first grade, but there's too much competition for his spot here, and we can't keep him under wraps forever. He's a good player, but I think we could afford to lose him, and it's in his interests to find a better deal.

Re: Buderus signs new Knights deal

He was playing well before he got injured. I imagine they let De Gois go to acommodate Boyd and Snowden, they signed Buderus because he's cheap but good bang for the buck. It could have been a good trade-off, but it hasn't worked out that way. They actually have a pretty good team, and a brilliant c...
