Re: Soccer talk and Banter , keep it all here

With the new season upon us time for my fearless ladder predictions 1. City (they've spend a fortune on the defence, will be much better this season) 2. Chelsea (were streets ahead of everyone last season, CL will bring them back to the pack) 3. United (will improve, but maybe not enough) 4. Liverp...

Re: Israel Folua Poll

Wouldn't fork out the big bucks for him. He hasn't played a game of league in over half a decade. Sure he was good when he left, but his body has been conditioned and worked to play other sports, he may not have the same performance. Jarryd Hayne wasn't the same played when he came back and he was o...

Re: Soccer talk and Banter , keep it all here

I feel like Arsenal could be in for a shock next season. I don't think Wenger is the greatest manager anymore, but I feel that club has issues that run deeper than Wenger. A lot of Arsenal fans have the belief that all the issues with the club will be resolved when the man resigns, and now he's gone...

Here's an interesting article about the final round of the EPL: www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5713425/How-stake-going-final-week-Premier-League.html WHU owners will just waste the 14 million on someone who plays 20 minutes throughout the season Jordan Hugill perfect example , cost 8 mi...

Re: Your most unpopular opinion about league

Maybe not unpopular, but I hate players playing the ball off the mark and getting a penalty because the markers are made not square. I would change the rule so if an attacking player plays the ball off the mark then no defender can be called offside on the following play.

Re: HIA

Did Mitchell Pearce leave the field for a HIA last night and ended up with a peck injury ???? were the Knights out of interchanges at the time I thought I noticed their trainer tapping his head while taking Pearce off the field Pearce was cradling his arm, but the trainer called an HIA. I don't kno...

Re: Soccer talk and Banter , keep it all here

Did anyone else watch last nights game in Women's Asian Cup between Australia v Japan The last 6 minutes I've never seen anything like it Australia had just equalized through Sam Kerr to get back to 1-1 Both sides had then qualified for the semis of the Asian Cup and the World Cup based on the 1-1 ...

Re: Brandy/ Players playing too long

If the experts can't give their opinion then just do away with them. Thurston has been off his best this year which is to be expected coming off a long term injury. The level of snowflakeness among some circles is ridiculous though, watch some American/English punditry. They will give much harsher o...

Re: Parra and Joe Wehbe

I can't say it's more enjoyable than watching the WT win, but seeing parra at 0-5 is very satisfying. And with the dogs just one above .... What’s even better, I think the Dogs are going to keep free falling and it’s hard to imagine Parra moving to far from the bottom of the table. Karma is alive a...

Re: Round 5 spoilers

I don't think Parra would have scored with 100% possession. Instead of signing Hayne they should have tried to hold onto Semi. Their team is full of players who can only play on the front foot, but virtually no one can get them on the front foot. They really look a mess, although often they look lik...

Re: Referees and commentators

It astounds me how much the referees are blamed nowadays. Their job is the pull up infringements in the game and enforce the rules, NOT to create a spectacle. That's the players and coaches job. If you're not happy with the amount of penalties.....stop giving them away. They should be criticised fo...

Re: Corey Thompson is a gun

Reminds me a lot of Brett Hodgson, not the biggest or the strongest, but makes up for it with determination, putting his body on the line and knowing where he needs to be at all times. If he's half the player Hodgo was for us he will do just fine.

Re: Leave Mitchell Moses alone....

I tend to find the young players who leave a club to win a title don't do well, especially those who do it at a young age. It is indicative of wanting a quick fix, rather than being willing to put in the work. If you want to do it, that's one thing, but don't be silly enough to publicly announce it....

West Ham on the verge of some special milestones One defeat away from 1000 EPL loses And if they lose by 3 or more they will become the first side in 50 years to lose 4 games in a row by 3 goals or more ( Forest in 1968 ) C'mon Saints ! Everton have the most losses , 1506 That's because we don't ge...

Re: Aussies 2018 tour of South Africa Spoilers

Wrongly? Imo he was. It was the cricket equivalent of a player blatantly knocking the ball on in the lead up to a try and the refs missing it. No one calls the player a cheat, they give it to the ref. It was a terrible decision, and if the Aussies had not have wasted their reviews it would have bee...
