Why can't the Brisbane player be named for legal reasons, yet SKD and others have had their name mentioned from the time the allegations were made, through to the end of the court process
I assume the alleged other party is his Mrs, so naming him would be outing her as the victim.

Re: The Contenders: Lock

Problem is ET just doesn't have great delivery from hooker. A full off season would have done wonders for him, hopefully he's still been able to bulk up a bit There was a repeat on Fox the other day, from when he was playing for the Warriors back in 2011. I was surprised to see how much bulkier he ...

Re: The Contenders: Lock

Lawrence doesn't have the lateral movement to play lock. I think he'll be lucky to get a spot in our 17 but may play a Mark O'Neil type role for us over the next tear or two. In the modern game, where a lock is almost a de facto 3rd prop, lateral movement is less needed. I love Lawry but I can't fi...

Re: The Contenders: Hooker

Whether or not Reynolds is the best option at hooker (I vote no, not even close), most coaches like to keep their spine intact.

There's a couple of different ways you can do it. You could have Liddle playing 2 stints and have Talor play dummy half while he's off.
It's bad enough wasting an interchange on a hooker, there's no way they will waste 2.

Re: The Contenders: Hooker

Anyone have in-depth stats for last season as to the amount of Mins Liddle started to play before his Injury. I was thinking in a couple of games towards the end he was pushing out 65 at least. Looks like some of the stats have been lost with the last NRL website update, but here's a snapshot up to...

Anyone keen to have a wager with me I'm offering double what the tab or any betting agency is offering.
I offer this every year but no body wants to take me up on it, despite how much they want to "talk" up our chances, i wonder why?
For premiership or top 8?

11. McQueen
12. ET
13. Hooth
That seems the obvious choice for me. Who gets on the bench will be the contentious decision.
For mine, Aloiai was just too good at the end of the season to leave out, but I could see him come in later as an impact player.

Re: Realistic team list round 1 2018

I'm betting against any major surprises, but there are still doubtful areas. Will Liddle and Suli be fit? 2nd hooker or utility? Who will be 2nd winger? Will someone miss out for Lawry?

Plus the inevitable pre-season injury. Surely someone will be out for 10 weeks in some innocuous manner,

Re: Realistic team list round 1 2018

Might be asking a bit much of McIlwrick to play 80. Liddle definitely doesn't have 80 minutes in him. Like most everyone, I'd prefer 3 pigs on the bench with another player that could cover backrow and centre (like Marsters). But I don't see Liddle or Killer being ready for 80 minutes in the short ...

Re: The Bench

What about poor Marsters or Benji or Grant. "Wests Tigers are sad to lose Tim Grant, but could not stand in the way of the 2 year offer from Penrith." Huh? Why the hell would Penrith want another prop with all the young up and comers they have in their ranks? Especially one they previously discarde...

Re: The Bench

Poor Rowdy.... :( No offence to Rowdy who is a club legend, but in the 2nd row I have him behind McQueen, Taylor, Aloiai, perhaps even Marsters. That said, injuries are almost inevitable. Aloiai could spend some time in the middle, or Taylor at hooker. I suspect Lawry will be a better player if he ...

Re: Moses Suli

I'd like to see him get some early ball, last season by the time he did get the ball the defence was already on top of him. They also need to organise some tactic to get him one on one close to the line, he could be our next TT. x2. Thought he looked good when he had some decent ball. Suffered from...

Re: Moses Suli

I suspect some are underwhelmed because there's very little "flash" about him. Considering he had the team's best yards after contact and was getting over 100m a game, I'm pretty happy at his age.
