Re: OFFICIAL: Ben Matulino to join Wests Tigers

He was arguably at his best prior to the banning of the shoulder charge during the Cleary era at the Warriors. Big motor and when he played on the edges in the second row on the odd ocassion had a dangerous offload.

No doubt for WTs this is a good buy mainly because he's reuniting with Ivan.

Massive wraps on bench in on-field huddle and sheds after the game.

Re: Gavet eyes special Bulldogs reunion

James AND Marty need to fire up for this one. Both released from the Dogs and they'll want to try and dominate; Not sure if niggle is what is needed against the likes of Graham, Eastwood and Sammy Kas. Just out and out mongrel! A couple of hard, brown Kiwi boys running it up hard against their old m...

Gavet won't be playing today. He's hoping next week though (NRL / State Cup?) which is better news than first thought,

Re: Anyone get a feeling Gavet may play?

I don't know HT. I was speaking to his brother in NZ late last night and that was the only detail he gave me.

If I find out more I'll share.

Re: Anyone get a feeling Gavet may play?

He was really close but after the session where he was running freely he complained of soreness afterwards. Possibly aggravated the tear (hopefully not a new one), plus a bit of bruising around the area, maybe a haematoma. See how he pulls up over the next couple of weeks, and hopefully the medics h...

Good call. I wouldn't have minded Kevin Locke either before he made the decision to head overseas.

Re: Taupau

Marty was angry and it showed but I loved how he responded by the way he hit it up. Gallon's always going to get the calls run his way.

Looking forward to seeing all of the bruise-bros against the Bronx.

Both responsible for the miss; Tagataese is a beast, but he can't run without legs.

Re: Time for Potters signature

Yeah, but we also knocked over some big guns. You have to look at the big picture - not last game. Agreed. Sharks may be cellar dwellers but we played a very desperate team away from home and managed to grind out a win. I actually enjoyed the result. Potter's getting back the NRL's respect for the ...

Re: Fifita injured

I heard a rumor that Tupau is injured? I hope its BS but it will definitely hurt our own go forward. As a NSW supporter I'm gutted that Fifita is injured. I mean yes, it's great that we have a big advantage now against the Sharks but gahhhh DAMN QUEENSLANDERS! Tupou is on report for a back slam on ...

Re: Congrats to Blair and Tapau

Marty should've gotten more minutes. He was noticeably busy and added punch when he came on. Blair's just getting better with each outing. Brilliant defensive effort from him, Not sure what they gave Sam Moa when he went off injured but he came back and played like it was his last ever game. J.Bromw...

Re: Nz haka

Not only did I not give my beloved Kiwis much (any) hope last night I was hoping against a cricket score. Going into this game we were deficient on so many levels. Many were baying for Kearney/s scalp following those selections and positional decisions. Incredibly encouraged by the result... at leas...

Re: Wests Tigers prop James Gavet's triumph over adversity

I was wondering when this story would finally come out! As a youth worker he was one of our bright lights. I remember when he used to do a 11 to 12 hour shift, quickly have a 'hose wash' then jump in the car and shoot off to Warriors Juniors training. The coaches then used him as an example to the o...
