Re: New coach.. Who should we target?

Macguire makes sense. Strong Kiwi connection, which will fit our club culture well, knows how to build a culture (eg Melbourne), turned Wigan around, turned Souths around. He is the bloke on the market that every club looking for a coach wants to sign. If the Tigers can swap him for Ivan and use som...

Re: Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

The drama over the coach is painful after all the other drama the Club has copped, but if Ivan wants to sign for the Panthers in 2021 (or sooner) good luck to him and let's extract maximum value and keep going. At least Luke Brooks knows he can build his career at the Tigers, with NC having signed l...

Re: Nathan Cleary

It is certainly an exciting prospect. People bang on about Robbie and Benji (and rightly so as they are awesome), but it was Scott Prince who won the Clive Churchill Medal and captained us to the 2005 Premiership. We haven’t had another halfback of that quality since. Brooks is playing great footbal...

Re: GOLDEN POINT

It’s great to have a result if you’re a gambler or one of the sports betting agencies embedded in the game, and fun for a novelty, but in a game that’s been tougher out having the field-goal-a-thon at the end is always unsatisfying. And I’m not sure why the NRL thinks draws are undesirable. They’re ...

Re: Never thought Teddy would be a quitter

On tonight's effort though it looks like his manager has told him to protect himself and be in good nick to party with the new team (and management) at Ivy on Saturday night.

Never thought Teddy would be a quitter

I thought I understood. I sympathised. I expected to cheer Teddy every minute he spent in a Tigers jersey.

But those two "tackle attempts" suggest he couldn't care less about us. Get a bag, find a cubicle and enjoy the rock star lifestyle at the Roosters.

Time to move on.

Re: Justin Pascoe lifts lid on Wests Tigers issues

Can't help but feel the club set the tone with business dealings. They were mercenary in forcing Farah out(not saying it was justified or not) and now the 3 have been mercenary in their dealings with the club. Why complain? Those complaining about lack of loyalty and the treachery of managers while...

Re: The Bunker Tedesco Try Decision

Sure. But if Woods doesn't have a handful of the marker's jersey it's not an issue. Too much nonsense, niggling, wrestling, cheating is tolerated in league these days. Unlucky call for us, but Woods was cheating and it probably cost us a try.

Re: Canterbury Bulldogs table four-year deals to lure James Tedesco and Aaron Woods from Wests Tigers

It would be a shame to lose our skipper and best forward, as it also would be to lose one of the most exciting players in the NRL. I hope we keep them both. Contract discussions are always going to be polarising, especially with young players in good form (both likely to be Australian reps this year...

Re: WESTS Tigers Team V Manly

Rankin didn't have a great game last week, but his super league stats suggest he's a decent player and his ability to cover any back line position gives us some flexibility to take a forward biased bench into the game. Looking forward to Monday and hoping the young man has a blinder.

Re: Not Taking the 2 Points

A 20 point lead demoralises the opposition and forces them to score at least 4 tries to come back. A really clinical side would also have been considering setting up a field goal at that time to close out the game, so I can't see any way to dice it other than two poor decisions not to take the penal...

Moving on from 2005

I don't pretend to know what is happening at the club and I am sure I have less idea than most on these forums. But from a supporter of the club since childhood, who grew up close enough to hear the crowd from Leichhardt Oval and has been following since the 1970s, I do know that major structural ch...

Re: The Shepherd

I fully expect the normal "we was robbed" response from the Tigers. As the commentators were noting that Robbie Farah was teasing Croker about his history of important missed kicks against us, I was musing that Croker had played mature, responsible, mistake free footy to lead his team back from an i...

The Shepherd

What a bizarre decision from the video ref. Understand the guy on the ground seeing Big Kev go through and Robbie behind him and wondering what role it played, but surely the match winning try deserves a little more analysis, and plainly there was no obstruction. That said... if you blow a 22 nil le...

Re: Wests Tigers Team Named for GCT

Gavet will be missed, but Liam will do a good, if different job. I suspect he will have a key role in tracking Bird and trying to shut down his ability to offload and open up second phase attack. Given the line breaks we tend to too easily concede through 5/8 and the centres it'll be an important job.

They don't make them tougher than Farah. Fingers crossed he recovers quickly and there is no serious damage. As well as us, NSW need him fit!

Re: Pain killing injections

We will probably never know whether going back on exacerbated the injury, however, I was worried when he ran back out it because we know Teddy has had a bad run and when you're carrying an injury you tend to try and compensate - putting strain on other muscles and tendons. Anyway, hindsight is the g...
