Club finances.. Very interesting reading

We all know how our team is going on the field but what about off it. Finance journalist and former fund manager Matthew Kidman crunches the numbers. The collective health of the 16 clubs in the National Rugby League is fragile and there needs to be a concerted effort not to waste the funds from the...

Ricky Stuart - Raiders - 7mil over 7 yrs

Well if this is true, imagine what he would be worth if they weren't wooden spooners. At least there's no way they'll be able to sack him then they couldn't afford the pay out.

Well as far as I know we aren't cap rotting drug pushers with no juniors or premierships, so I'd say cronulla

Tigers stake out wrong money tree

Why is some morons on here only want an independent board now that Balmain can't cough up. It's simple, I want the Magpies to have their say as long as they pay there way. Posted using RoarFEED 2013 If you're going to assign board votes to contributions the NRL would have a controlling interest eas...

Roosterman or whoever he is has hit the nail on the head. Why would the nrl step in when there are options on the table.
Personally I'd love someone to take control so we could then work on getting the souths or roosters accountants who manage their salary cap...

Cap relief for junior development

I think there needs to be some benifit in developing juniors factored into the salary cap... The challenge is defining junior talent and how much?! Posted using RoarFEED 2013 I'd say junior reps perhaps from mats on. The issue is as its always been; clubs develop a once in a generation junior and t...

Cap relief for junior development

Raiders boss wants NRL salary cap discount David Barbeler Wednesday, August 21, 2013 5:27:12 PM Canberra CEO Don Furner will renew a call for the NRL to provide a discount under the salary cap for clubs that develop their own junior players. His younger brother David Furner became the first Raiders ...

Balmain sell part of WT??

Balmain would consider selling part of their stake in Wests Tigers to a private investor if a stand-off over a $1 million financial shortfall cannot be resolved. As reported by Fairfax Media on Wednesday, the Wests Tigers joint venture partners are at loggerheads over control of the club, with the W...

Wests Tigers need quick $1m to survive

The wests magpies board run one of the most profitable and successful clubs in the country, including business property gaming and liquour. They would be as clued up as any independent, and would probably turn the fortunes of the club around very quickly. I don't think the balmain guys are as accomp...

Coincidence ??

They should be allowed to return home - what Canberra is doing to Milford is appalling in my opinion. His father is sick/dying and they're not letting him return home. Barba wants to be with his kids, and that's fair enough too. If players ask for a release, I think they should be granted them gene...

Push is on for Trent Barrett to coach Wests Tigers

Why is it that Steve roach's name pops up linked to many stories involving WT from the DT? I loved him in the 80s but why does he have such a presence still nearly 30 years later. He has never coached and is just Hadley's side kick. Maybe he is the leak, pushing his agendas. I wish he would fade awa...

Wests Tigers set to part ways with Mick Potter ??

I think the team's results won't really determine if Potter stays or not. Pretty sure even a BAD board would understand that injuries have played a significant part in the season's fortunes. If Potter is sacked, it'll be for the real, genuine coach-killer.... he's lost the dressing room. I think we...

Mayer tweets about Government funding

Let's be honest, LO gets 4 games of NRL a year, and bugger all else. Why would a government throw millions at it for that purpose? At least Brookie gets 12 nrl games. I'm sure if WT played 8 games at either ground and shared it with another significant sport, the money would come in but 4 games? Pff...
