Re: Paul Vautin axed from The Footy Show

Good riddance. Should have gone 10 years ago. It nearly did,Producer at the time wanted to get rid of Fatty and offered the Gig to Matty Johns ,Johns wouldn't take it unless Vautin left on his own accord. Anyway a lot of fallout followed when the word got out,Fatty stayed and Johns left but he got ...

Re: Why Not the Balmain Bears?

My best memories as a kid was playing 4 grand finals on North Sydney Oval. Lost the first one, and won the last three. I would love for rugby league to return there. If Norths get back in i think they intend playing 4(6?) home games at NSO,that will P..off Gold Coast Fans if they are successful in ...

Re: Did we miss out on Des

Jason Taylor by all accounts is a strong tactician but doesn't seem to have the people management skills to get the players to do what he wants. Exactly, good 2IC but needs a strong Jack Gibson type Head Coach to get his message thru. He doesn't seem to be able to get respect or authority over playe...

Re: Did we miss out on Des

He still has a lot of support at Manly and if Trent has a bad season next year he could be back sooner than most people think.

Re: TIGERS Rozelle Development

Was the building ever condemned by the council? Not that i know of but the Leagues Club and Carpark should have been cleaned up regularly. It was mess when i last visited a couple of years ago and in the Sironen Documentary visit it was the same, mess everywhere. The guys that built the club up woul...

Re: Des Hasler to leave the Bulldogs

Jim Dymock should get the gig, he's a good coach. He was promised the Gig back in 2011(12?),not sure who was on the Board at the time so the promise is probably worthless now. I haven't seen it mentioned but apparently one of the reasons DH left Manly was the growing interference of the Eagle Angel...

Re: Telegraph at it again

In 2014 when the sharks were reeling from the Asada scandal and on their way to the wooden spoon, the sharks were everyone's suggestion when asked which Sydney team can relocate. The best way to distance ourselves from this talk is by winning football games, and playing finals footy. 3 finals serie...

Re: Heath Gibbs snapped up by Tigers

I wonder if we will have $ left in the Cap for Woods if the Berries deal fall over. The Berries, eh? You must go back as far as I do and I've been following Wests/Wests Tigers for 56 years when Newtown were "the Bluebags" before Jack Gibson renamed them the Jets! I was at school in the 1960's but r...

Re: One Foot in Grave Forum

A Woman's Poem He didn't like the casserole, And he didn't like my cake. He said my biscuits were too hard... Not like his mother used to make. I didn't perk the coffee right, He didn't like the stew. I didn't mend his socks, The way his mother used to do. I pondered for an answer, I was looking for...

Re: Benji Marshall - Official..

Yeah low $,dead-cat-bounce applies to a lot of Footballers coming to the end of their Careers ,good backup for our halves next year,.
Reynolds seems to be getting lots of niggles the last 2 seasons so Benji should see some first grade.

Re: Niel Henry never wanted to sign Jarryd Hayne

Apparently Parra. offered him a low ball contract(pre Titans) related to "Salary Cap pressures" ,but if they had wanted him they would have found a way,it was rumoured Arthur wasn't interested.

Re: Woods may have stayed if Ivan had come earlier

There could be more to run on this story, rumours have it that Raelene Castle's dispute with Ray Dib and sections of the board was over the Salary Cap.If Des. gets punted in Oct./Nov. anything could happen before the 2018 Season starts.

Re: Ricky Stuart delivers all-time spray at referees

Interesting character Ricky Stuart. Seems to be able to lift teams to a point but it is very shortlived. Yeah, for the majority of his Coaching career he has seen Teams going backwards under his guidance. Lots of players not firing thou.,Leilua and Austin are a shadow of last years performances for ...

Re: NRL must expand or die - DT article

I can't understand why the Central Coast is being ignored, back in the mid 1960's when Penrith & Cronulla got the nod it was being discussed as a future growth area,IIRC Northern Districts said at the time they would include the CC in its area if they got a start in the NSWRL 1st division. 50 years l...

Re: We need an experienced half back

All I'm hoping is Reynolds has a short kicking game and a better option than put a bomb up no matter where we are on the field. As long as he's not another Ballin and doesn't go around trying to trip people we will be OK,i hope. The big question is why Des is letting him go,he offered to stay for l...
