Rowdy will stay on, I’m pretty confident about that. Maybe 2 years, then head off to the ESL.
He said to my dad at the WT awards dinner that he wants to stay on for a while yet.
Benji and Robbie probably thinking the same way.

We need more captains next season , I want 8
I'd go a step further and name 17 captains..
And three coaches, Ivan, Bennett and Mage.

Re: Our past is killing our future

Being born on he wrong side of the tracks can make you want to work harder to achieve. On the other hand it can make you lazy and not even try. Let's hope Wests Tigers in future take the first path. I believe the club has turned the corner.

I get the suggestion that Pascoe was in NZ recruiting a new player , not coach

Any word on that ??
Hope so.
I think Gavet could be the one.

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

For all we know Pascoe is in the UK, seeing as both our reported top choices are there right now. Maybe he's just interviewing them in person...? That article (with no names attached of course) is just rubbish! Bennet gone cold but would find it hard to turn down. Lol. He isn't even in the country....

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

At the start of this saga Wests Tigers stated they were holding Cleary to his contract. Cleary confirmed that he would honour his contract and nothing has ever been heard from Wests Tigers or Cleary since. So logically the status quo remains and Cleary will remain as Wests Tigers coach for the next ...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

I agree with Jirksyr, worst case scenario and we miss out on both Maguire and Bennett, we’ll stick with Cleary. Maybe re-evaluate the coaching landscape at the end of 2019 and see whose available. Nothing wrong with that outcome. Cleary has kept quiet whilst so many on the forum have vented their a...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Wests Tigers all set to go for 2019. Only question remaining is whether Maguire will, for 2019, fill the two CAP spaces available.

Jirsky, I think you have just described the difference between an interest and an obsession.
I also think that an interest is healthier than an obsession.

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Screw the lot of them. That funny little man Geoff Toovey isn't doing anything at the moment, he coaches at 58%, comes cheap, and has passion. We've had a lot worse than him before.... Mate. The club is cash strapped as it is. We can't afford all the investigations he will call for. Get on the inve...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Penrith are now sitting pretty. They sacked Griffen late in the season, installed a lame duck dummy coach for a couple of weeks and now have the coach they and their star player wanted. Ivan Cleary has struck the jackpot with a possible large redundancy payment and a long term very well paid coachin...
