Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

This worries me. If true, it means that both Madge and Bennett do not want to come here. Therefore, Ivan’s contract stands and if he wants to go to Penrith, it will cost them $500k for us to release him. I don't read it that way at all. I think if true it's saying you created this mess, you want it...

I read it this way too. You wanted him that badly you sought to ruin our end of year and preseason and leave us with nothing next year, you can make some reparations.

Re: Our past is killing our future

I think the home ground thing will be remedied very soon. I would not be surprised if we set up camp at WSS long term. It is important to remember the clubs that gave rise to WT, but I am starting to realise that there may be a point where the past has to be left there and the club needs to make de...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Hasler and Manly are a great fit. He should never have gone to the Bulldogs in the first place. Only went for the big bucks, or was it just to sabotage them? Either way he did a good job of messing them up and being paid handsomely for it 😂. Now he is back where he belongs. Bulldogs threw the kitch...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

The only way is to keep booting them out till the dimwits get it through their noggin cb. There's only one thing they care about - getting re-elected. Once theyre smart enough to correlate it, then we might see progress. You are correct but i dont expect to see it in my time polies of all persuasio...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

The problem is, I don't think ALP will be above knifing a sitting PM again. The moment Shorten becomes a liability as a PM, they will scramble to save their own necks and there will always be some opportunist. Would have thought the Liberal Party would have learned from the Rudd/Gillard years but th...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

Turnbull was well liked in Wentworth. The backlash against the Libs was always going to happen. Not sure is Scomo will go to the polls. I am not sure the LNP will survive it, especially after a narrow scrape last election. The ALP will likely get a token term, hopefully they present sensible policy ...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Rowdy will stay on, I’m pretty confident about that. Maybe 2 years, then head off to the ESL. He said to my dad at the WT awards dinner that he wants to stay on for a while yet. Benji and Robbie probably thinking the same way. Why wouldn't Rowdy want to stay on? Playing decent footy, is easily in o...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Is Ivan worth 1/2 mill to Penrith now they have secured Nathan? I really am not sure. Ivan might end up being a coach that has gone from one that two clubs were fighting over to one, that neither really want. Would be hilarious if he wound up out in the cold, but he isn't leaving here without a pay...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Hayne wants $700,000 a season, bit much. Ridiculous asking price he must be looking for a pension,i wonder which club would be stupid enough to give him one? I suppose he's gotta start somewhere, may as well go high and negotiate down. Doing himself a disservice if he does otherwise. Still wouldn't...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Rothfiekd reported in the telegraph that WT Board has directed Pascoe not to release Cleary under any circumstances until minimum 1/2 million in compensation is paid. Excellent, the old scorched earth policy. What could possibly go wrong. No, its smart. He's contracted for 2 more years, its common ...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

I’m just wondering if there’s a case for litigation against Ivan for damage that he has done to our club/brand? I would guess not because all he has to say, which he has publicly, is that he is going to honour his contract. He can legally sign a new contract with Penrith starting 2021 because his c...

We’re not starting up the Cleary to reserve grade talk again are we? Spare me.
Not unless Penrith give us players as compensation... ;)

Re: Benji Marshall re-watched all his 2018 games before deciding his future with Tigers

Benji was good to start the year. I think he was probably not expecting to play as much as he did with Grub basically becoming a permanent rehab resident all year. The wear and tear took a toll on him as the year rolled on. Farah, well despite how I felt about him going and coming back I can't igno...
