Re: The Ashes

Really disappointed that Renshaw got bumped, but I can understand the logic. Public have long whinged that players performing for state are being overlooked and now the selectors are somewhat listening.

Re: The Ashes

Been a fan of the Marsh boys for a long time, was even a G Marsh fan. However we shouldn't go with Shaun at 6, instead we need an allrounder like H Cartwright imo. We don't need an allrounder, we have four bowlers capable of taking 20 wickets (plus Smudge and Warner can rip a few through,) and we ar...

Re: Oils

The Oils were a band I've grown into as I've become older. Didn't mind them in my teens but I was more interested in listening to grunge and metal than anything else. Many of their songs tell great stories. The Wittenoom asbestos mines in Blue Sky Mining, European colonisation in Short Memories, Arm...

Re: AC DC Malcolm Young dead

Sad news and a sad end for him. I'm not AC/DC crazy like most Aussies (that is to say that I don't mind listening them but they're not anywhere near my favourite bands,) but I respect their longevity and what they did for rock music in Australia, with the dying live venues they're one of the last ba...

Re: Soccer talk and Banter , keep it all here

Well we got there in the end, but it was tougher than it should have been. All eyes on the group draw now, hopefully the gods are kind to us this go around. I think going to Russia we will benefit from teams actually attempting to play against us. Without a clinical finisher is becomes tough to bre...

I've always thought T Paine to being the best keeper in Australia but his finger injury come at the wrong time. Only has one first class century to his name tho which is a concern.
His Test average is higher (granted it was only four games,) than his FC average. 35 to 29.

Re: The Ashes

Bad idea shafting Renshaw. That kid is the goods. I agree but it's not without precedent ..plenty of players have been dropped on poor domestic form and come back better players..including some of the current selectors.. We complain a lot when form players aren't selected over incumbents.. True but...

Re: The Ashes

Mine personally:

Renshaw
Warner
Smith
Khawaja
Handscomb
Bancroft
Nevill
Starc
Cummins
Lyon
Hazlewood

If Nevill fails I'd look at bringing in T-Paine.

This team is a No Wades Club.

Re: Wests Tigers strengthen position in Macarthur region..

I was thinking what would the current mayor think of this - but it looks like the perpetual whinger friend Paul Lake has been replaced with someone who seems far more reasonable. Here's a quote from the new mayor (George Brticevic) when the Tigers reduced games from 4 to 3. “Council acknowledges th...

In the strong Labor electorates that plebbed against gay marriage shows that financial equity is more important than social equity.nnn Until their cultures or religions are under threat and then the general Australian community gets a lecture about tolerance and their rights. Maybe each individual ...

Re: Mugabe overthrown in Zimbabwe?

As usual, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Probably started off with the best of intentions for his people but once he got on the gravy train there was never getting off of his own volition.

About time, hopefully things turn around and the country becomes prosperous once again.

Luongo on the bench might be a masterstroke.

Glad Juric isn't starting.
