Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

From the The Mole ...... The Bulldogs are considering medically retiring Greg Eastwood after the Kiwi international forward underwent surgery for an irregular heartbeat last week. The club is desperately trying to free up money in the salary cap to sign a halfback and question marks over Eastwood’s...

Re: CEO Update - Justin Pascoe..December..

I sure don't. Seems like double dipping to me! "Here's a brand spanking new stadium for you to use. Oh and here's an extra 10 million bucks to put towards a COE wherever you want to put it." "Meanwhile you other guys get nothing" Something doesn't seem remotely fair about that and no the COE should...

Re: NRL agrees to review third-party agreements in a bid to end salary cap rorting

I think a fair few of us are forgetting one major thing . Any attempts to change TPAs will result in legal action by players . As far as I know they can’t be banned in any way, as it would be a restraint of trade . If things got really hairy , the players could torpedo the Salarycap as well, as tha...

The coaches in-form son being available to approach from November 1st 2018 might also provide some motivation.

Re: Manly Salary cap issue

The only way to pinch players on dodgy* TPA's is to work with the ATO. Not sure how kosher that is or what legal hurdles you'll encounter trying to access that information. NRL might be able to find some sort of argument if they are protecting integrity of the game. Who knows... *Dodgy club organise...

Malan and Bill Burr will be looking to kick on this morning, we'll need a big first 20 overs from our quicks and try to despatch them as quickly as possible.

Re: The Ashes

How good is that documentary forged in fire? Listening to the ex-players from both sides talk about that 74/75 Aussie side was one of the greatest laughs ive had in a long time. Thommo was hillarious. I met Thommo at an industry do last year where he was the guest speaker. He is deadset one of the ...

They'll fix the bugs. They've only just launched it, chose a good time to do it in the off season close to Christmas when most couldn't care less.

Re: The Ashes

Yeah a wicketkeeper who can bat is always handy. Gilchrist really changed the role of a keeper.

I would still take a great gloveman who is an average bat rather than a great bat who is an average gloveman, keepers win you games from behind the stumps, not so much in front of them.

Much prefer it than the old format. Glossier and just as easy to navigate.

Re: The Ashes

If we had six blokes we could routinely rely on to put on 350 runs per innngs we wouldn't need an allrounder.

Our bowlers have no dramas taking 20 wickets when they've got a total to defend.

Visions of Politis doing the Jedi mind trick on Greenberg.

"There is nothing wrong with the TPA system"

"It can stay the way it is"

"The clubs can go about their business, move along..."

Someone helped him. He isn't smart enough on his own.
His musings are as thought provoking as a pile of brickies mud.
In all the WC games Moses took the knocks and came back full on - hit me with your best shot was his theme song.
You've got to get off the hydro.

Re: The Ashes

If you want an allrounder Jack Wildermuth could be worth a shot. In 5 Shield matches, he has played 8 innings and scored 251 runs, 14 wickets at an average of 25.07 We dont want all rounders, they are con artists. Unless your name is Jacques Kallis or Garfield Sobers. Today's "allrounder" is a con ...

Re: The Ashes

That's why I hope they don't serve up another highway like they did against the Kiwis in Perth, that was absolute garbage that pitch. The point I make on Maxi Paws is that he's maturing as a player in the longer form of the game. Even if it was only a Shield game, you don't score 200 odd if you don'...
