Re: Campbelltown

The magpies were at Campbelltown full time for nearly 20 years, and the region never really embraced them. The generations of kids that grew up there didn't make the magpies their own side in the same way that Penrith locals made the Panthers their own. People considered the magpies to be blow ins f...

Re: Wests Tigers want long-term Tamworth deal

There is home ground advantage....and then people are talking about guaranteed results, victory. "Throwing away 2 points" Two different things Icon, Abe, no...its not the same playing at Leaichhardt as it is to playing in tamworth, if LO had a 100% win ratio record your argument would be valid, but...

Re: Wests Tigers want long-term Tamworth deal

I think the people making an argument for Tamworth are patriots in the Wests Tigers, no problem with that, I too want all the best for my club, but lets not confuse that with the team, if you want the best for the team, we want all home games at...…. I get why the club wants to explore these option...

Yeah...it was the locations fault we lost that game

Jesus!
ahuh... playing Newcastle in Tamworth is the same as playing them at Leichhardt i suppose ?

I guess the home ground advantage is just a 100 year old myth.

Re: Michael Lichaa

He is a decent defender ... its his attack that concerns me. People say it was Des who held him back in attack, which may be true, but Des isn't at the dogs this year and i havnt seen a great improvement. If he can show some of the attacking form he did in the 20's, that would be fantastic. Just not...

Re: Wests Tigers want long-term Tamworth deal

I don't like how easily we throw away a potential 2 competition points by giving away the home ground advantage.

I get that moving matches to all these far flung places generates money and new fans ... but you know what else generates money and new fans ... winning games!

Re: What are your thoughts on signing Robbie Farah back?

If it was done on a short term basis, then taking the emotion out of it, you would simply need to ask whether his inclusion would make us a better team this year? I honestly don't know if he would... he has slowed down a bit at 34, doesn't provide quick service from dummy half, and has a questionabl...

Re: Aaron Woods - Signs with Bulldogs [Official]..

That's where we will disagree.

Quality props are hard to come by, and if you can get one of the best in the business while your rivals are paying a chunk of his wage, its strange not to at least pursue it.

Re: Aaron Woods - Signs with Bulldogs [Official]..

Geez if clubs are only going to pay half of his $900K contract, we would be silly not to look at him. I hated the way he carried on in the media after he signed with the Dogs, but at least he put in on the field last year unlike MM. The other thing he wants to come here, so he should realise what h...

Re: Darren Senter

Darren was a dogs junior, a backrower originally i think. I loved him, but i think we has a Tery Hill type of player in the eyes of opposing fans. Loved the niggle and sledging. I think he was accused of racial abuse against an opponent back in the 1990's .. can;t remember if he was found guilty or ...

Thought Nathan was solid without being spectacular. For a 20yr old on debut, he will only get better.

I'm a fan of Gus Gould, but his gushing comments about Nathan all night were a little over the top.

You argue like a condescending jerk. I'd say most of the people reading this thread see him sitting pretty comfortably on the moral high ground. Even people that agreed with your basic views would probably be happy to see you shot down because of your obnoxious expression. Welcome to the condescend...

The belittling came from you, and i simply responded in kind, as i always will.

If you don't like it, don't dish it out to start with.

Sorry, but there is no moral high ground for you to occupy here.

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

The Quote function is very tricky to use apparently ... 1950s? What you mean when Jiminez nationalized vast sectors of the economy? That wasn't socialist according to you? Luis Herrera Campins was a socialist? Must be news to him. What is absurd is a revisionist approach that pegs Venezuela's curren...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

Venezuela was a capitalist haven? If you say so. Arguably it did better under Chavez at first. The Scandinavian countries aren't successful socialist nations or will we go down the not a true Scotsman path? Venezuela had one of the highest GDPs in the world and a booming economy in the 1950's befor...
