Anyone leaving Aloiai out of the side is doing a huge injustice to the team. He is our best forward. Beast.
Couldn't agree more. For me he should be the first forward picked each week.

Re: The Contenders: Centre

Is it really too much to expect that a first grade centre could pass a football the other way? I'm sure if it meant not playing NRL, they'd soon pick it up. Wouldn't even require a high IQ.

Re: Tigers interested in RTS

is liddle actually our first choice hooker if fit??? Absolutely. I dont see why he should be. He has performed very little to prove he is even capable of being a consistant first grader let alone a lay down first choice in the sport's most complex and dynamic position. I hope to be proven wrong as ...

Re: This years key to our success......

The key to success next year will come down to two things: Physical fitness and mental toughness. Last year, Ivan had the team believing that they were fit enough to compete for the full 80 minutes and it showed in our performances where we were still in games right up to the final siren. Naturally ...

Well, HALF obviously means a halfback. Not giving FULL clues means it isn't a fullback.

Re: Mahe Fonua

I'm hopeful... that with some good training regimes he can become a wrecking ball in the NRL as he was in the ESL. Would love to have another TANK!!! I like that idea, but more then that I like the idea of us having strike power in the backs. I.e. around Reynolds and Brooks will be Corey Thompson, ...

Doesn't look like 130kg to me.
Maybe they were weighing his wallet.....
No he fell of his wallet and ended up with stress fractures in his ankles. He has to see a plastic surgeon to remove the laugh lines from his wallet.

Re: Lolohea

I think what everyone needs to take into account when discussing the fitness of any player is that the coaching and conditioning staff will not have any player in first grade if he is not at the required fitness level. Tui will be fit to hit the ground running and his training will have put the mile...

Re: NRL 2018: Chris Lawrence puts hand up for captaincy at new-look Wests Tigers

With all those people going for candidates "out of left field" I can't see Ivan doing that. Brooks is still struggling to take any ownership of this side and has a lot to prove, even though I think he seems to be a nice bloke - but captain?? The captain will be someone who has plenty of experience a...

Re: Fonua to lean on experience in NRL return

Given the fact that he says he's "not the fittest" and that he has started the pre season seven weeks behind his competition for an NRL spot, I can't see him starting the year in firsts. If it was just his World Cup commitments, maybe but the two things, in my mind, may well see him start his WT car...

Re: The Contenders: Lock

I know the modern trend is to have props interchangeable with locks, but if Taylor is a consideration for lock, why not Rowdy? He's got the ball skills (gone well at 5/8 for us in the past) and the footwork. Because Taylor is extremely good at defending in the middle and is a better ball player tha...

Re: Reynolds: "Nobody thinks they're better than anyone here"

I would like to see Brooks step up and demand to be captain of his team. Sorry Fibros but no way. I have never bagged Brooks on this forum but judging from interviews etc he simply doesn’t have the smarts to be captain Watching Brooks in his video profile, he seems to have a lisp which would stop h...

All this talk of locks playing like an extra prop in the middle makes me yearn for the attacking and cover defending locks like the great Johnny Raper and Kevin Smythe at the Magpies. Well, I've never denied being a dinosaur!

Re: Realistic team list round 1 2018

I’m not sure about a round 1 team but my prediction is we will give the Roosters a toweling. Everyone involved at the club is saying there is a hunger and determination not seen before. Listen to Reynolds on the latest podcast - he says everything is a competition at the moment. I’m not sure how we...

Re: The Contenders: Hooker

When your 3rd string hooker (ET), becomes an extra backrower with a representative pedigree twenty minutes into the game, I'd say our forward stocks are looking better than I've seen for a long time. I think he's a shoo in to start at hooker with Liddle or McKiller on the bench.

Re: Pre Season Casualty Report

I wouldn't panic about Liddle at this stage. I've had the same operation and I'm 69yo against his 20yo. Recovery for me was about 4 months so I'd expect him to recover earlier than that.given that he is a pro sportsman with full time physio available to aid his rehab. I stand to be corrected but I d...
