Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

I see it like this..... Ivan wants to coach his son sometime in the future..... Nathan signs long term with Penrith for the next 5 years... Ivan (if true) signs with Penrith from 2021.... Ivan states he will honour his contract to keep coaching WTs until 2020.... He then goes to Penrith to coach Na...

I agree 100%, our luck would be that we sign him and then he dies next year while we are waiting for him.
Our luck?
What about Bennets?
Maybe he wouldn’t just die!
Maybe he’d jumpoff a cliff in frustration at coaching us.
I bet a couple of our previous coaches thought about it at times.

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

With you GNR , short term hurt for long term hate and Cleary will have a reputation to protect If Cleary dogs it , 16 clubs will be watching closely .........and Bennett would still have control of recruitment along with Kelly Egan and Pascoe Cleary must know that Gus will sack him (if he actually ...

Re: Australia V Tonga

On form (Tonga's is a while ago now) I think they can do a good job against Oz. In my opinion - this is the worst Australian team I can remember. Half of these guys can certainly frame the jumper (in a few years nobody will remember whether they were beaten or not). Hoping for a Oz win but how they...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Madge will be GREAT. we need someone tough. Bennett cant make a star studded broncos side perform so no thanks Tough? Ask South supporters about Glenn Stewart signed at the back end of his career with dodgy knees and the lack of flexibility from Maguire about training which forced him out of the Cl...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Totally concur Willow. Apart from his contractual obligations for 2019,I doubt very much whether Bennet wld risk his reputation at WTs. TBH,he hasn't done such a great job at the Broncos given the talent and resources hes had available over the years, and its unlikely he wld match Clearys achievemen...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Still nothing from a real source. The only thing that seems to be more and more of a chance is that whoever we get, will be here because he has no where better to go to, The other thing is that Souths May just sign Siebold to an extended contract, They were the ones who didn’t want any more of Maqui...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

We are an embarrassment. Our preferred options are holding off seeing if they can get a better offer elsewhere. We need a plan e so that we can move forward and sign a coach. Put something in the contract that prevents them meeting with other clubs before the season that the contract expires, punis...

A promise, and a contract are different
I would think that a promise is the same as an unwritten contract,
but maybe not these days..

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

the longer it drags on, it only makes me doubt that Justin & Marina have any control at all. and the last thing we need is to make rash decisions that only lead us to a repeat of the coaching predicament post Sheens. Slightly conflicting there Lauren. I think Justin and Marina are taking their time...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Slightly conflicting there Lauren. I think Justin and Marina are taking their time to ensure they explore all possible options and go through the due process. Our problem before was that we didn't do that. Me thinks Lauren might be blonde. It’s been scientifically proven that long term use of perox...

His contract would state he's employed to coach WTs NRL team... Anything else we'd have him doing we'd be in breach
Pure guesswork.

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Maybe we've made our decision And maybe our future coach knows he has the job But we are delaying an announcement to make pus gus sweat it out a bit You might be on to something, any hurt we can cause Gus is well earned on his part Why would Gus sweat it out They’ve got choices , and aren’t hanging...
