Re: The Contenders: Hooker

I think that this is an area we need to look to recruit in. McIllwrick offers little in attack, has average DH service, and can even be shaky in defence when fatigued. Liddle has more of an upside, but may not be durable enough to handle the full load at this point. ET will defend the middle of the...

Re: The Contenders: Lock

I know the modern trend is to have props interchangeable with locks, but if Taylor is a consideration for lock, why not Rowdy? He's got the ball skills (gone well at 5/8 for us in the past) and the footwork. Because Taylor is extremely good at defending in the middle and is a better ball player tha...

Re: Breaking News: Jarryd Hayne

They have a funny system in the US ... The cops say he has no case to answer, yet she can still lodge a civil suit and chase money in a situation which can't be proved criminally. It's the same system we have in that regard. Criminal charges need to be proved to the criminal standard of beyond reas...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

I could be( and hopefully am) wrong, but if things keep going the way are then in time there could be 5 or 6 clubs that would last through a financial crisis in the game through monopolising the talent, success and all the benefits that come from success. With TPAs continuing in the fashion they ar...

Re: Crichton to roosters

3.9m of 9.4m cap on 3 players. Other 27 on average of 203k. The NRL is ridiculous If the Roosters really had a bunch of No names it would not be ridiculous. They however have JWH, Tuopu, Fergusson (who may be on a cheap contract due to scandals), Jake Friend (who must be getting some coin), Keary w...

Re: Why new Shark Seumanufagai left the Tigers

Is anyone else concerned with front row depth if packer and matelino injure we going to struggle. Off the top of my head I'd say we have probably close to the best front row depth in the entire comp (Panthers have better), so no I'm not concerned. The Roosters should be concerned about their front ...

Re: Crichton to roosters

So what figures have been quoted on Crichton Just remember blokes never played rep footy and only in second season Realistically he is a 500 k a season player best case scenario Anthony Seibold said on the news that Souths offered him $650K a season. Again we need to ask if that is salary cap or wi...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

Should the personal deeds and misdeeds of a Politician affect whether or not they are capable of doing a good job in office, and whether we consider this when voting for them? I'll put my hand up and say that if i disagree with someone's personal actions, i probably wouldn't vote for them. Realisti...

Re: Why new Shark Seumanufagai left the Tigers

He's a decent bench prop but no great loss. Lacks any dimension to his attack. The Sharks needed prop depth more than we did and they'll get good use out of him with his ability to play good minutes. I'm not going to hold his dopey comments against him, he's probably following a club script to crap ...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

I agree with what you’ve said, plus the fact that he goes missing in games on a regular basis At his best he is a good player.( not great) At his worst, he may as well be sitting with the spectators. His good games are seldom seen. He’s had a lot of time to be a consistently good player Without get...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Merrin is a useless fat overrated softy, never did anything for the dragons but was always talked up in the press, has had a couple of decent hit ups at panthers but not many - pass! I would chase Murdock Masilla - he was awesome in the World Cup (always had so much potential early on). I was calli...

Re: Manly Salary cap issue

but tonight on the news TRENT stated that they still had room in there cap to buy a new 5/8. sounds like someone is telling porkies. or there just like 5-6 other sides in the comp who get away with everything. I reckon Trent Hodkinson will go back to Manly now. They need a 5/8 and he will come fair...
