Re: Same sex marriage debate...

An older article but on topic. This is George Brandis defending the proposed SSM legislation as put by Sen Dean Pay. "Senator Brandis added there were already constitutional and legal protections for religious freedom. “Although we don’t have a bill of rights in Australia, unusually there is actual...

Re: Same sex marriage debate...

Why do they refer to radicals lesbains, for example, as looney left? It is not a typical left-right issue at all unless the right wing are conceding that left wingers respect individual human rights more. I think the "looney left" is a catch all phrase referring to intolerant SJW types that are una...

Re: Same sex marriage debate...

I guess once the yes vote gets up and equality is achieved, the "Gay Mardo Gras" can become just "The Mardi Gras", and in the spirit of equality Hetero's can join in to celebrate their straightness. I also think the LGBTIQ term is a little outdated. Perhaps it can be changed to something that we ca...

Re: Why Sydneysiders should support the Roosters

I'll never forget what Murdoch and the Super League teams done to the game, and from which it has never recovered. So it'll be a cold day in hell before I ever support a SL team against any ARL team. :x Roosters were ARL aligned iirc Yep, they were ink, so it's a no brainer for me. Go Roosters.

Group 6 Finals

Thirlmere Roosters advanced to the Group 6 GF in a fortnight with an unexpected win over the Picton Magpies at the black & white's home ground on Sunday. Picton were red hot favourites for the title, being Minor Premiers and finishing 6 points ahead of the second placed Thirlmere. The fact that the ...

Is it too late to bring Moses back as half? Channel 7 news just posed the question "Is Moses the Messiah to lead Parra to the promised land?' All I can say is we're doomed to damnation for a long time. You don't reject a Saviour and get off lightly.

Re: Ryan Papenhuyzen

For anyone that missed it, Ryan signed back in May to a three year deal with the storm. http://www.melbournestorm.com.au/news/2017/05/05/storm_sign_exciting_.html He will join them at the end of this season. It will be great to follow his progress over the next few years, but supplying the Melbourne...

Re: 101 Great Rugby League Players

shakey4d, thanks. That is what I was getting at I can't recall Reggie pull of that kind of stunt but I should check out some old videos first. Yet Hayne is not on the list yet and due to sometimes lackadaisical involvement etc. he may not rate in top ten. They should have at least have given him a ...

Re: The Great Grand Final Heist: How Balmain beat the Rabbitohs by laying down

Virtually the whole media had us despised outsiders in 69, and put in the boot big time when we won. Clive Churchill's son wrote that his father came up with a game plan to get Beetson taken out in the Semi-Final that worked to perfection. Each Souths forward goaded him individually until he was sen...

Re: 101 Great Rugby League Players

I consider Benji and Hayne and Slater playing at their best superior to Gasiner, Raper and Langlands. But Hayne goes on holiday on the field some times. My best mate being a mad Dragons supporter would drag me along to many of their games. I consider the list has a bias to Dragon players. I think t...

Re: WT Forget Campbelltown

We've long heard here and on other media of the head butting between the Balmain & Wests camps, but it seems small apples compared to the apparent dysfunctional relationship between Wests Ashfield & Western Suburbs Campbelltown clubs. I have to admit that as a Balmain supporter I am not too familiar...

Re: Gus' idea about concentrating on South West Sydney

The sooner NRL Franchises realise they are the Big Show and stop wasting money on specific junior development areas or non-relevant competitions based on Traditions, the sooner they will flourish. History and Traditions simply cloud the game from growing at the elite level. Those areas are for the ...

Re: Worst refs ever

Not sure if that pass to the touch judge was purely a bad pass, or the player just saw the black/red? orange? figure in his peripheral vision. The officials once wore white or green or red so they were completely dissimilar to the two teams. Common sense seems to have gone out the window in so many ...
