Re: Salary Cap

Thanks Geo, that is the way I thought it worked. So basically clubs that have good contacts in the big end of town have a massive advantage and of course most one team towns. Once again it highlights how uneven the current system i So why do the Roosters keep getting so much money? Cocanne this, Ki...

Re: RL World Cup 2017 Thread...

How come the Aus Aborigines don't have their team as well? Two very good reasons come to mind. 1. The World Cup is for teams from Countries not for people within a country. 2. The Aboriginals are covered in the World Cup because they are Australians. This system is working as it is promoting unity ...

thanks, many mistakes but was funny watching Farah playing half back and not getting the ball from no. 9 - for first part of game at least. Niue island only the size of a postage stamp had a decent team considering.

Re: Salary Cap

I think a points system is the way to go, not working out points for each player but so many if you play First grade, so many if you play SOO & so many if you play for your Country. You get a discount for your Juniors, Once your points are reached thats it. But then it disadvantags sides like Melbo...

Re: Salary Cap

The problem with a points system is that it's completely subjective. SALARIES are not subjective. They are what someone was willing to be paid at a given moment. Do what the NFL does - Make the Salaries of the players public - sure people on the forum might argue that it's an invasion of privacy, h...

Re: Salary Cap

I've never agreed on the argument about the unfair scenario for teams like Brisbane vs Sydney Teams etc. That scenario is one based on choice. The choice to keep so many teams in Sydney, the choice to not base a 2nd Team out of Brisbane, choices I feel the NRL must address if it wants to a stronger...

Re: RL World Cup 2017 Thread...

Fifita should never be selected for NSW again after this. Knowing how shoddy the rules are though, I'm sure he'll be one of the first Blues chosen next year. Matulino has to be unlucky, especially given no Taulmalolo, Bromwich and Proctor. Was one of the Warriors best towards the end of the year. N...

Re: Salary Cap

Well if the salary cap was stat-based points, then if a team has a really bad year with really bad stats - Then they will have more room in the cap for the next season, which makes it unfair because players are being graded less points than they are actually worth. There will always be flaws no matt...

i cant see Cowboys maintaining the same level of intensity and composure that they did in the finals. if they do, they'll be my new fav team ever.
On top of what they already have this year, they are getting Thurston, Scott & McLean.

They should be better than they were this year in 2018

Re: 2018 Fearless predictions.

For the 2018 Top 8 the only teams I think are certain are: Melbourne, Roosters, Cowboys The other 5 spots will be between: Broncos, Parra, Sharks, Manly, Penrith, Dragons, Canbera, Souths and Tigers - 5 make it, 4 miss out (take your pick) There will always be a team that falls (2017 Canberra) A tea...
