Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

I don’t think Penrith want him at all. They got rid of him not that long ago. It was all for leverage and show to keep Nathan at Penrith. Now that is done and dusted, IC is no longer required. If they do take him it will be begrudgingly to keep NC happy. Other than that IMO IC is of no value to Pen...

Re: Benji Marshall re-watched all his 2018 games before deciding his future with Tigers

Benji was good to start the year. I think he was probably not expecting to play as much as he did with Grub basically becoming a permanent rehab resident all year. The wear and tear took a toll on him as the year rolled on. Farah, well despite how I felt about him going and coming back I can't igno...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Is Ivan worth 1/2 mill to Penrith now they have secured Nathan? I really am not sure. Ivan might end up being a coach that has gone from one that two clubs were fighting over to one, that neither really want. I don't think Penrith will be bending over themselves to pay that sort of compensation. At...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

If Phelps loses it's her own fault for preferencing the Libs. Her own preferences were never going to be a factor but she may have angered enough ALP and Green voters to sink her. I still think she wins though. The way that Antony Green has put it. They have gone to postals. The Liberals would need...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Tyrell Fuimaono was a centre/back rower who was just off contract. He is now signed to Penrith, the club our current coach is heavily linked to be coaching next season. Am i really the only who has a problem with this. It would seem a perfect recruit for this club as we need to cover both areas. Th...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

That almost perfectly describes my position. Once I was the most one-eyed vocal Wests magpies supporter you could be. That passion has eroded to a point where I don't watch all WT games but I still follow them. If that makes me a fair weather fan then so be it. They're just words and don't reflect ...

Re: Wests Tigers provide update on 2019 NRL squad

Thin on for outside backs... The pack proved they could match it with the rest in the majority of games ...the addition of Matterson will improve the balance of the pigs The top 17 is a good squad id back them against most sides in the NRL..however we know injuries will strike at stages...it's wher...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

The longer this goes on the more chance of them turning their attention to Maguire. Starting to feel Bennett has used us to get his name in the paper. He will ride out his last year with a good squad and walk in to the Parra job or something. Bingo, Bennett is getting his name in the paper but ROFL...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

There is a huge difference between JT and Ivan...Ivan has done a lot more in 12 months at this club than JT could do in 12 years... Ivan may be a better coach, but the results are the same: Got us to 9th, then everything went pear-shaped. ROFL. I take heart though that were a clear nine this year. ...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

If we get Bennett in 2020, Hodgson could be a caretaker for 2019. Hodgo will be awesome for us one day. But I want to see him actually win a bit of silverware in the lower grades first. He would be less prepared then Cameron Ciraldo. That being said, my prediction: Cleary will stay in 2019 Wayne wi...

Re: Jason Taylor Manly?

"Prior to that, he had mixed stints as head coach of Parramatta, Souths and Wests Tigers." Yep, Mixed.... That is so kind. I just can't wait till Manly start converting less then 50% of penalty goals. No idea who their kicker is but we know JT can't train them. I also wonder if he will be as good as...

Re: Memo to Ivan Cleary

I think we need to pick a cold one and calm down. There is WAY too much hype around Nathan Cleary, Ivan Cleary and this whole mess. What does not scare me is loosing Ivan. He has done a goodish job with the team, but it is goodish. He was no supercoach. He has good relationships with the players an...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

A bike rider in india has a vehicle pull out from his path. He comes of his bike. He is ok and so is the other vehicle. But his bike hits a local traders shop, destroying his milk, his cow, all his wears and his business is ruined. The Wests Tigers feel like that trader. How did we get into this mes...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Geez, some of you think that Ivan is going to a weaker club and will struggle? He’s not going to Penrith in 2 years time or earlier just to coach his son. He’s going to coach a powerhouse club. He wants a premiership just as much as his son and he knows he has a better chance at Penrith. I'm really...

Re: NRL finals - Week 2 (spoilers)

I am going to go Bunnies, will be cheering Penrith but I am backing the Bunnies.

I hate St George too much, Sharks need to be removed as a team. I would be happy with a Bunnies vs Panthers final.

Melbourne is the only non syd team in the finals. This is good.

Re: Thanks Tigers!

I predicted this year we would go from 13-16th too 9-12th. 9th is good but we could have come 8th. Looking at the top 8 we are no where near them. The Storm, Rabbits, Roosters Sharks and Panthers are teams of Superstars. The Dragons and Brisbane both have strong rosters and used them well. The Warri...
