Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

These are all long established trends. https://www.npr.org/2018/09/12/646708799/fact-check-who-gets-credit-for-the-booming-u-s-economy Forest for the trees. More noticeable US wise currently, is the disparity of the rise of corporate profits and filling of the 'one percent's' pockets since the tax ...

Well there you have it. The Fox Sports people have the facts straight. She did leave Japan aged 3. Apparently her father is from Haiti and in 2016 she reckoned her Japanese stank. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/tennis/aus/2016/01/18/japanese-rising-star-naomi-osaka-serena-williams-australian-...

Racism? Sexism? Wasn't she playing a female from a minority race? Maybe tennis wise... But Japan? Minority? Im guessing sarcasm but I don't get it I'm just saying this wasn't a white female from a privileged background. The winner was born in Japan but has lived in the USA since she was 3. So she i...

Re: Wests Tigers players present at venue involved in drug raids

Cue the googling of Just a Dash Melbourne Cup. Sadly perhaps I don't have to Google it. 1981? Tommy Smith's last Melbourne Cup winner. Just sandwiched in between Belldale Ball and Gurners Lane breaking hearts by running down Kingston Town. [/quot It was 1982 when mal crucified Kingston Town y...

Re: Your Opinion on were Two New Teams Should Be Based In the NRL

I love the idea of a conference system. Re: 60's and 70 Rock

How about Roy Orbison. One of the greatest voices in music history. Great voice but I found his music tame compared to rockers like Kinks, Beatles, Animals. He did one politically-inclined song Working For the Man, may have even been anti-Jewish. Janis Joplin would knock Roy out for a six any day H...

My other fav was the big day out where headliners included Iggy Pop, the ramones and urge overkill. Did the driving dash to watch that in both Sydney & Melbourne
1992? I remember seeing the Ramones at the Sydney BDO. It was just Joey and Johnny from the original band by then.
