Re: Luke Brooks

He helped get a Thurston-less NQ to a GF though in 2017. I think he could compliment Brooks. As you say Brooks is very direct whereas TMM is more your Benj/Milford/Johnston stepping, scheming type. Good foil for each other. TMM would be better than S Johnston because I feel it would better suit Bro...

Re: Cronulla Sharks being investigated over possible salary cap breaches

Or Wests Tigers pay overs for mediocre talent.. Totally agree. The NRL isn't a level playing field - the NRL artificially introduce restraints on the game to try and even it up. But you aren't going to match Broncos for sponsorship or Souths for members overnight. And many differences between "qual...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

I am lost ... We as a club are making a profits and record members, Corporate $$$ etc... but the clubs with salary cap problems, Dis-functional Boards just keep signing Rep players like it is nothing.. Surely I am not the only one that is pissed off Sharks are a good example - Salary cap problems a...

Re: Luke Brooks

TMM stats didn't measure up in 2018. His style could suit Brooks though. He could became a hand brake for Brooks if he doesn't make line brakes/ try assists/ repeat sets and defend well. Brooks running metres is equal or better than TMM as well. TMM could come cheap though. Brooks plays pretty dire...

Re: Players who never reached their potential

Also Jacin Sinclair - so much potential sadly He was my first reaction. When he came onto the scene, I thought Sinclair could have been one of the real Tigers greats. I think the club thought that too. Him and Tim Brasher in the same backline - amazing talent. Set the wayback machine: https://www.y...

Re: 20-40 kick: NRL coaches to consider trial for rule proposal

I don't rate the proposition because there's too much territory to aim for. Arguably, any team under the pump that goes for a 20/40, would find it difficult to get such a kick away, under pressure. However the key to the 40/20 is that you are shooting for a space 20m wide - undercook it and nothing...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

I must say... Young Joey Manu - at present, is the best centre in the game. Looks SBW like in ability, size, strength, etc. Hard to get a start over him & Latrell - who is also a superstar. I would rate Manu as the better player and wish we could get Lomax from the dragons but unfortunately there i...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

NRL.com now saying Widdop will probably be released end of 2019 to go back to ESL, which does not fit with SJ's immediate release. Does look more and more like Sharks.

Re: Todd Greenberg threatens to take NRL grand final interstate if Labor abandons stadium rebuildNRL CEO Todd Greenberg

Yes yes, Northern Beaches Hospital a shining example of how to spend the tax-payer dollar well. There is scope to fix / modify / renovate / rebuild stadia, especially if there is positive financial outcome from it. Events like State of Origina and Grand Final bring a lot of revenue to states, hence...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

I'd be super surprised if we got SJ - we just don't need him as badly as some other clubs suddenly do. If Widdop leaves and Holmes gone, both those clubs need a replacement ASAP and they have big money spare. Only a Kiwi connection could entice SJ to Tigers. But honestly despite his talent, he plays...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Widdop must think he isnt getting enough money so he is putting pressure on the dragons This is what’s wrong with the game. They have him under contract for 3 more years. Why they should they feel pressured. The Warriors refused to grant SJ a release today, yet they are the bad guys for doing so. C...

Re: Cronulla Sharks being investigated over possible salary cap breaches

Typical News Ltd article - heavy on speculation and light on facts. James Hooper is one of the turdiest journos going around. I've seen him in real life and he has an extremely punchable face. But the demise of Stuart Flanagan won't cause any tears here, the bloke is a siege-mentality hypocrite. Al...
