Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

That article has Isaac Moses written all over it I think it’s our fault, we are never willing to upgrade players ahead of time, if they show great promise we sit on them until they hit multiple radars. If we had some foresight we could manage our cap better by locking them up earlier. Until now it’...

Hypothetical.. If you had the option of signing only one of the following who would you go for? Aitken, Lafai, Leilua, Walker.

Re: Justin Pascoe on 2ky 8am today

Do we have to question the signing on Oliver Clark Was the signing necessary or helping Penrith out We have to question almost everything Cleary has done from mid 2018 onwards recruitment retention wise , players he let go ........ Does Cleary bring the game into disrepute .........?? Does the NRL ...

Re: Justin Pascoe on 2ky 8am today

As I posted a couple of times, Ivan would have known what Nathan was planning to do. The two of them would surely have had a plan. I don't sit this with Gould, I sit it firmly on Ivan's shoulders. There are a few on this forum (myself included) that stood by his word, thinking he was a man of integ...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

POM's last line was a little intriguing - some tweaking of the roster will occure but expect only one addition prior to Christmas.
Sounds like one or two current players might move on.
If it's the right bodies, it would free up a couple more spots for Maguire's own recruits.

Re: Fans have right to ire over Cleary: Tigers

Anyway, at the end of the day, we get a better coach and the Panthers and Ivan can get on with whatever it s they are going to get on with - they deserve each other.

IC better make sure it all works out at the Panthers 'cause he won't be getting another gig in the NRL methinks.

Re: Wests Tigers announce Michael Maguire as Head Coach

I am very pleased this has worked out as well as it has. I am more than prepared to give Maguire all my support as I have other coaches and players until they prove they no longer deserve it. Welcome Madge - let's rip in!

Johnson is on $800,000, Benji is on about $200,000 & we still have Reynolds. Cant see us signing Johnson.
If I was Madge, I would be trying very hard to get Benji to retire, save his $200K and go hard for Johnson.
Having said that, we still need a couple of big angry hombres first.

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

If we don't get compo then we should have negotiated harder. It's as much about sending a message that we can't just be raided at the leisure of cashed up clubs that take a liking to our coach as it is about the finances. We need to push for both cash and a public acknowledgment that compensation w...

11 games against 2018 top 8 teams, 13 games against bottom 8
Only 1 game against Roosters, Storm and Sharks. Not bad!

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

We're playing Penrith at Suncorp. Its a 6pm Friday night game. Gus tweeted out a poster of it with Nathan Cleary posing on it. That should generate another 20 pages or so of melodrama. Whats the odds on Brooks smashing NC! Such a shame it's not a Leichhardt! I would bet my house that there would be...

I am happy for him to play this role in the off season as long as he's not playing much of a role in 1st grade in the footy season.

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

I'm sure Maguire will have improved as a coach. You don't get to where he has in this job without being able to learn and improve. Sometimes a year or two out of the spotlight allows you to reassess your performance and where you need to change.
I hope so anyway.

Re: Benji Marshall re-watched all his 2018 games before deciding his future with Tigers

I will say that Marshall as a reserve is fine for the odd game here and there - if he plays much firsts we are in big trouble.
R.F. - not so much. Played OK in general. Handy to have on deck again.

So, who else thinks he’s an oxygen thief? Why do you and others think this? He keeps a low profile for sure. I have no idea what his day to day role looks like and I also have no idea whether he is effective or ineffective. Him and David Warwick....what do they actually do?..IC made all the footbal...
