Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

In order to sound like he has control over Cleary, iF Cleary asked for a release, why wouldn’t Pascoe have simply said in his release that “Ivan asked for a release” He didn’t say that,,,,,,,,,,wHY.? it would actually been more damming for Ivan , and he was obviously trying to make Cleary look as b...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Seems like an odd thing to do. Ruining the reputation of someone (who highly values their reputation) that is supposedly your friend and that you're trying to woo as your coach. Time will tell. Just seems to me that they put the wheels in motion to get what they wanted. So you really believe that t...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Instead of smart ....e answers why don’t you look at facts , why would Pascoe or Go , NOT say that Ivan has asked for a release , ( if he had) instead of just making obscure comments,??? Its a bit like you , doesn’t make sense . I dont know what Ivan asked for, but it certainly wasnt the time to an...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

FG, Any chance you can let us know where you saw that Ivan was quoted as saying that he wants to leave here NOW? There’s been nothing like that that I’ve seen or heard. It seems that you are just putting words into Clearys mouth to suit your argument, If hes going to honour his contract, as he said...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Exactly, it might be a romantic idea to have Cleary scrub toilets for the next 2 years, but it means we’d have two coaches on the books. But I thought the law experts on here said that wasn’t possible lol. Barrett has submitted a resignation letter. Cleary hasnt. There-in lies the difference...most...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

That still does not mean he has asked for a release imo So why did Pascoe tell us the club will fight for this. If Ivan didn’t want to go, there is nothing for Pascoe to fight. In order to sound like he has control over Cleary, iF Cleary asked for a release, why wouldn’t Pascoe have simply said in ...

Re: Roy Masters

Great days the game against Souff's sitting on the Lidcombe Oval bike track as a kid is forever etched in my memory...it cemented my love of Rugby League Almost got the corner post that day too... Was on the hill around the 22 metre line. Great days sitting on the hill watching all 3 grades with a ...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Geez TT, Ivan wanted (and virtually undoubtedly still wants) to leave us to go to Penrith, not at the expiration if his WT contract, but now and told Pascoe and the club just that. That he was originally told in no uncertain terms that he would not be allowed to leave, even if he officially request...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

Ivan signed for 3 years initially, after that he can do what he likes...you and avo are making it personal without getting confirmation from the club....I will wait until I here from Pascoe and the club before I start talking things such as untenable,he is a dog ,he is off the bus...so much immaturi...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

The club has NOT stated Ivan has asked for a release and was rejected. The club stated IF he asked for a release it would be rejected.A statement with a completely different meaning to what you claim.I know nothing about the actual state of affairs regarding the coaching.Everything else is speculati...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

A written statement actually is saying something clearly TT. , and sometimes used when someone wants to say something that he doesn’t want to be taken the wrong way, or another partynhas been throwing legal threats around, , Just because you want him to say something else, doesn’t change the fact th...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

AVO and Patriots hate for Ivan is overwhelming without knowledge from the club....dont make this all about what you guys want...its the nrl and anything is possible... Can you honestly say Pascoe is acting like a CEO who knows his coach is committed to the cause. I just cant see how you cant justif...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

The thing is GEO,Ivan signed a 3 year contract,if he fulfils his obligations under that agreement then he has done absolutely nothing wrong by signing to coach Riff in 2021...he did say he would honour his contract....therein lies the commitment... So no need for Pascoe to look at replacements..coo...

Re: 2019 Coaching saga -Thread

I see it like this..... Ivan wants to coach his son sometime in the future..... Nathan signs long term with Penrith for the next 5 years... Ivan (if true) signs with Penrith from 2021.... Ivan states he will honour his contract to keep coaching WTs until 2020.... He then goes to Penrith to coach Na...

I agree 100%, our luck would be that we sign him and then he dies next year while we are waiting for him.
Our luck?
What about Bennets?
Maybe he wouldn’t just die!
Maybe he’d jumpoff a cliff in frustration at coaching us.
I bet a couple of our previous coaches thought about it at times.

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

With you GNR , short term hurt for long term hate and Cleary will have a reputation to protect If Cleary dogs it , 16 clubs will be watching closely .........and Bennett would still have control of recruitment along with Kelly Egan and Pascoe Cleary must know that Gus will sack him (if he actually ...

Re: Australia V Tonga

On form (Tonga's is a while ago now) I think they can do a good job against Oz. In my opinion - this is the worst Australian team I can remember. Half of these guys can certainly frame the jumper (in a few years nobody will remember whether they were beaten or not). Hoping for a Oz win but how they...
