Re: Memo to Ivan Cleary

Why should I apologise to you, you beleived Ivan's statement, now you are saying Wayne is staying, you are easily convinced, I am not I believed Ivan's statement as well, on more than one front. He did not lie, admitting to discussions with Penrith and made a half arsed commitment of intent to see ...

Re: Memo to Ivan Cleary

That is the real world that you describe, if I leave my job I can't work for a competitor for 12 months, so you are bang on, and Cleary has gone past the workable situation now to untenable You are comparing Apples with oranges. Your contract obviously has a clause in it , that says that you have t...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Pearson would have been an awesome signing, but we have limited spots. So lets just sign a bunch of reserve graders and we can upgrade a couple on long term deals near June 30. Last year was the new dawn. Cap room, new coach, roster vacancies and we have blown it. I have never been more disappointe...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

I see that Alan Jones has come out with a half arsed apology for his interference and downright bullying in the Opera House horse race promotion rubbish. About time the Premier came out and did the same, upon cancelling permission to use our iconic structure as a gambling promotion tool. Yes, it sh...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Oh the irony. Whilst I too reckon the odds of Cleary going would be similar to that offered on that wonder horse Wink, I'm gobsmacked by the number of people that see it the same way, when so many wanted to stick up for Ivan a couple of months back. Back then, EVERY bit of information, some of it di...

Re: Kelly Egan new General Manager

*Bump* What does Kelly Egan do as GM of football? Whenever it comes to player/coach contract negotiations we always hear from Pascoe, and nothing from Egan. Isn’t the point of a GM to deal with the football related issues and let the CEO look after the operational aspects of running a business? P.S...

Re: Memo to Ivan Cleary

Honestly, it's illuminating at how thin-skinned and sensitive we all are. In the real world, if you had plans of changing employers in 2 years or when your contract runs out, do you think the boss and your fellow employees would tell you to leave now? Would they get so offended that you want to wor...

Re: New coach.. Who should we target?

Perfect holiday time for Ivan but at some point he will have to come back and face the music. Another written statement I sense. Cant believe he re-signed Farah and Benji and then buggers off. Hope all ties are severed with him quickly. I never liked the re-signing of Farah and Benji, and then for ...

Re: New coach.. Who should we target?

Telegraph just reported Cleary signed 3 year deal with the Panthers from 2021 season onwards. He needs to be gone now. If he stays coach here for the next 2 years then we will become the laughing stock of the NRL. Yes I think his position is now unintenable and it just remains for the Panthers and ...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

You can thanks Cleary for the slowdown in recruitment. No one will sign at this stage of the year unless we get it sorted. I was speaking with a player manager today who was confident Maguire to Broncos, Bennett to Tigers, Cleary to Penrith. Also believed Todd Payten would replace Brad Arthur later...

Re: New coach.. Who should we target?

I have no idea how Penrith will keep team harmony long term.... James Maloney is the number one play maker at Penrith James fought with Gallen at the Sharks about not doing what James wanted with the ball in attack I don't know how this strange father Son love story plays out in front of the team c...

Love to be able to still watch a couple of black stripes forming a V on gold background jerseys running around in the NRL, but that ended about twenty years ago.

Re: Inglis to lead new-look Kangaroos squad

I am not a great Inglis fan but I am not going to bag him out for this. I didn’t think he looked right after the Souths loss in the semi. Thought then he needed some professional help. To me he looks seriously troubled. I am not at all suggesting what he has done doesn’t deserve punishment however ...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

So I look at our 28 and think we will only see 1 more signing before the start of the season unless we release someone else as we will keep the 1 spot open like we did last year and like most clubs do. Looking at our squad the key position is the outside backs where we still need a winger/centre or...

Re: 2018 Grand Final Melbourne v Roosters

I'm curious all the Melbourne haters in the thread, is it the players or what the club stands for? Because Melbourne might have previously been cheats, but no salary cap issues for a decade. Otherwise it's, what, the way they bend and test the rules? Well I believe the Roosters bend and test the ru...

Re: 2018 Grand Final Melbourne v Roosters

The start of the coverage only made me long for the days of 2005. Though forever etched in our hearts and minds, it’s such a distant memory. It really sucks already knowing that Roosters are going to come back bigger and stronger next year. Yay to us Tigers faithful as we officially survived watchi...
