OP = Original Post.

Cheers Spartan. I'll tell you what, Kul does a bloody good job of making it all sound very fluid, I had so many dramas with lag and my connection.

Re: movie thread

Saw the Lincoln Lawyer today, that was a pretty decent film to watch and good to see McConaughy in a serious role rather than the lame rom-com stuff he's been doing over the last few years. Have you seen Seth McFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy Willow? Their take of McConaughey in the life raft...

Re: Cricket Season Thread

Anybody just watch the cricket? Watson 185* off 96 balls with 15 4s and 15 6s. Aust reached 1/232 with 24 overs to spare. Does anyone find that remotely disturbing that he scored 81% of his runs in less than a third of the balls he faced?! Should have batted first, he would have hit 250 on his own....

Re: Cricket Season Thread

There were 14 teams. I thought they could of went with 12 teams to include the Irish. However that would probably force the organisers to abandon the one group format that they have decided to go with as it would mean the finalists would play 13 matches (11 group games plus the semis and the final)...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

You really think the PRC will stop buying our goods based on an angry oneliner? Come on now... They were more upset with Rudd's comments re the Hu trial. And yeah, Downer never left Australia did he? Which particular trip or trips would you have cancelled for Kev? No, but I'm saying that he doesn't...

Re: Cricket Season Thread

Tait is the posterchild for the overrated sportsman. He is truely woeful, can't even pump out 10 overs in a day anymore. He sprays the ball everywhere, has no consisntency, no reliability and maintains his spot based on the fact he can bowl it a little faster than anyone else. He has his good days,...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

I agree. But it also shouldn't have even been done in the first place. It's not going to increase educational outcomes nor provide us future cost savings. The batts program was a good idea to help with energy costs, but it was poorly executed and a lot had to be ripped out. Then don't get me starte...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

Spot on mate. At least we were lucky enough to have the budget in a good position leading up to the GFC, so that we aren't facing austerity measures now like the UK or Greece. It still amazes me as to how much we spent on policy like the BER that did very little to ease our main future pressures in...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

Well said CB. You sound like you are great with your savings. Much better than me. I wish all Aussies had the same mentality as yourself, but sadly they don't. I agree that there are people do it tough while living within their means. That's always been the way. My pop used to go out and catch rabb...

There's a difference between living beyond your means and falling behind though Hammer... I'm sure there are people out there who eat out three times a week, buy top line televisions once every couple of years and have expensive hobbies and complain that they can't maintain that they shouldn't have ...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

Surprisingly HT, it appears to be coming down in some areas in Sydney. I used to live in Glenmore Park with my folks, before I moved out to move in with my girlfriend in central Penriff and it's an area that is well known for having rather expensive homes. They've released a new section of land ther...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

To be honest Gillard needs to put her money where her mouth is and either disclose the average cost increase to the taxpayer and/or family unit and put it to a referendum or take it to an election. It is such a large issue and can have such a large impact on the economy that the electorate should re...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

No for reason 1 Major Parties won't touch issues properly for fear of backlash What do you think is happening at federal level with the ALP? They've backflipped on the Carbon tax, and despite outrage from the electorate they are sticking to their guns (this time that is,) If that's not tackling a b...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

But I think your missing my point Why do Greens , Family First get votes. 2 reasons 1/our major parties won't touch things in the too hard basket and which may be decisive and upset voters and the minor parties focus on this. 2/ These parties have faces now when in past they did not and Democrats h...
