    Psychologist needed...

I used to think that it was a mental problem. After today, apart from this, I suspect a tackling 101 clinic wouldn't go astray. Hard to see us beating too many (if any) teams on current form. And top of that, there are players who are also going backward, in performance. Benji has a mountain to...

    Yeah...nah..

Strange season this...Feels like the attitude is one of "Che sara' sara'.." I get the sense that overall if this season where to end today, there wouldn't be too many complaints. This week will be the same as next week, and the one before and the ones from many years before that. Is it a case...

At which point of the season..

will Benji's coaching come under the microscope? Perhaps even starting this thread may be seen as a symptom of future malcontent. However I am hoping we don't pull the trigger (as we've done previously), and understand that this is a long term work in progress. Unlike previous years, we are at...

    The bomb...

I should start by saying I've never been a fan - most probably because it is something that EVERY time uses, so there must be something good in it. The NRL has introduced a few rules around it lately but to my mind it is a lottery everytime (and maybe that's the attraction), and another one...

    The last 15m

Yes, the Broncos had won the game and had relaxed...but gee, isn't it time, Benji & Co., to try somethign different, perhaps a little like 05? Maybe ad libbing works for us, more so than a stuctured game plan which relies on a solid spine (which we don't have) and discipline right across the...

    Let's gauge opinions

One way to summarize the general feeling around the team..

    The short kick off.

Presumably works on a 50% chance of getting the ball back. Are there any statistics to prove that it is a better option than the long kick? I am surprised at how quickly it has been taken up by so many clubs, regardless of the score (I may be wrong, maybe teams only do it when they want to...

2024 is going to be another cut and paste

A few rounds into the Premiership and some of us are already dreading the prospect of another spoon...Lucky the Titans are winless (for now) so at least we have a few points on them, but for the next few games, let's brace ourselves. We'll be at the mercy of the mindset of our opposition, IMHO.

    Respect!

20 minutes to go and in front of packed house, and in the shadow of the great and late Keith Barnes, we put up this sort of performance? You cannot expect to be shown any sort of credibility from us. No apologies makes up for the lack of effort, discipline, dare I say belief ? makes up for this...

    Post try celebrations..

Are you for or against? Certainly the US ones are over the top (but they do make great TV!). I think some NRL teams tries something similar (althogh tied to some sort of charity promotion if I recall?), which didn't last. This said, who currently celebrates it best and who is your all time...

    Hypothetical question

A (friend/partner/family member/colleague) asks you " I'm considering becoming a sports fan. How do I pick a team"..what would your answer be, inclusive (of course) chosing RL and the WT.. ;)

    Speed - what is it?

Watching some of the games at the weekend, including the one against the Dolphins, I am wondering if our speed of execution (passing, running) is a few levels below what it is for most teams? More often than not, when we shift the ball either side, the defense can see what's coming a few passes...

    Glass half full?

I thought after a forgetful first half, we looked a lot better in the second half. So I am expecting to read mixed reviews on tonight's game. For mine, we are a work in progress but at least I am starting to see what look like solid foundations to build on. I do think Benji needs to reconsider...

    John Morris

Liked him when he played for us - a no nonsense type of player. Wouldn't win a game for you but wouldn't lose it either, BUT he is our defense coach. How much work he has put in is evident judging by the last couple of games. Hopefully still a work in progress, so better things to come. But I...

    The superannuation gig...

Reportedly, this is what some people said when Api signed for us. And maybe the same was thought of Justin Olam. Yet, without a shadow of a doubt the former has been nothing short of inspirational for the team since we signed him, and Olam, judging by the intenisity of how he plays (and never...

The only way (should have been) up...

Sadly, I don't think any coach could do better with this bunch of players. There far too few of them that belong in first grade, the rest are at best reserve graders, lacking both the size and the skills to play NRL. Let's just set our expectations accordingly, and hope we don't get embarassed...
