Mental Preparedness: Was last Sat night friend or foe?

I've heard a stack of chat everywhere about whether the Tigers can bounce back from the disappointment of last Saturday night's epic loss against the Rorters. Forums, the print media and radio have asked the question as to whether our boys can get over the mental anguish and be in the right "head space" to take on the Raiders in Canberra.

Well, I actually think the loss will have the opposite effect: I think it will fire the Tigers up big time.

Like many here I went to the game. I left exhausted and drained. The next day, however, I was totally ticked off. Very angry. Angry that we lost after giving so much. Angry that ref decisions went against us. Angry that the cocky Rorters got away with that win. Angry that we've come third but now have our backs to the wall.

And I bet the players are feeling the same. Robbie in the post match press conference was livid. GREAT!!!!! We've suffered heart-braking losses this year and bounced back to win - look at the extra time game against Souths. I believe the players will be seething at the thought of going out of the semis in straight sets… and this red energy will fire up the Tiger spirit and carry us into a blockbuster aginst the Dragons in week three.

We are far from spent…anyone writing Wests Tigers of is a douche..

I have witnessed them do incredible things....Sheens will have them up for the game I have no doubt in my mind...no 'experts' give us a hope...good...Victory will be even more sweeter....

i think we can bounce back.. but im with u by 75minutes i was so exhausted i could hardly chant for the next 25minutes!!

carn tigers!!

It could very well spark the team up, similar to losing to Souths in extra time. This is provided the team move forward as a whole and don't dwell on the match. They need to focus on the things they did right, and look at the strengths and weaknesses of the Raiders and work how best to handle them. The Raiders will be expected to win this week, they're at home, in top form and coming up against a mentally and physically battered Tigers side who many won't believe are capable of winning this week.

I'm sure Sheens and the players have other ideas though and hopefully they learn from last week and move forward in a positive fashion.

raiders are the cinderalla story like we were in 2005 and parra last year - they will be hard to beat because they're on a roll and i reckon its a big ask - but i have faith we can do it. anything is possible.

yeah it's certainly possible, the players should be more ticked off than the fans…..and a lot of us are still pretty ticked off

the team will be hungry, and ruthless in the way they play. sat night result will fire them up immensley.
once they get on top of raiders, the foot will be applied to the throat and increased until it gives raiders no chance of winning.
the ball will be thrown around, some passes will stick others won't. i expect this quite alot in the game.
when wests-tigers chance their hand, exciting footy is witnessed.

Its simple .. If we want our 2010 Season to continue we have to win .. regardless what happended Sat..
Every game is a must win game in order to survive .. as clear as the air we breath ..
