NRL Beach Tackle and Beach 5s Australia and New Zealand presents Australia’s inaugural Wollongong Beach 5s Festival, at North Wollongong Beach. NRL Beach Tackle 5s is a 5 aside sand-based competition based on modified rules of Rugby League, Union and Touch Football.

Have played in newcastle last 2 years
10 minute games 5 minute halves. 3 games then finals (think another 2games)
You are lucky to be playing more than 4 minutes a game as you sub pretty much every try scored
Apparently there’s way more teams enter on the Gold Coast one
You definitely feel like a beer after your last game

I've never watched or heard of it so would love to know more.

How many players on the field per team? And how many subs?

Good to see reduced times but I can still imagine peoples Achilles burning after a minute or two even!

Unlimited interchange
It’s pretty much backyard footy
Think its heralded as a hybrid game
Defence is only at back of ruck so no run up
I play with a few mates and our sons plus a few friend's
Google beach rugby 5s think there’s a website on the bottom of top post
It’s $600 to enter a team i think
The night before newcastle they were after extra players as some teams were short
