BENJI

Post by tiger_4_life » Mon 06 Aug, 2012 9:29 pm

He has probably copped the most amount of criticism in the last month (and rightly so) but today he gave us a taste of the old days and not only in attack but in his defense, i though him rushing up on hindmarsh was a major play in the game. Hopefully this continues on in saturdays game. GO BENJI!

He was back to near his best tonight, and it was due in no small part to him taking the line on a lot more and creating hesitation in the opposition defence. Granted, the Eels defence was rubbish, but this was side coming off back-to-back wins against Melbourne and Brisbane and they certainly made the Tigers work for it.

The Tigers really tightened things up after the Eels first and last try in the second half and from there Benji stepped up, along with the rest of the team.

5 try assists. Top knock Benji. Pity you have been ordinary all season.

I don't know if anyone noticed his "forward" like hit up.it was like he was showing his forwards what he wanted them to do.From then on the boys hit the line with vigour and started bending the eels defensive line.So proud of him tonight. He might not be captain but u could see his natural caption qualities tonight :)

When he is good, he is brilliant :)
What a player :)
When he poor he is better than 95% of the opposition, but when he is good he is in the league of his own.

Go Tigers

When he is poor he is amongst the most laughably inept players in history and does such stupid things that Paul Carige laughs at him. But yeah he's good when he's good. So are Ben Roberts and John Sutton.

They're not in Marshall's class and never will be.

Thought he was brilliant last night. Kicking game much better also. I thought Fulton at 5/8 helped, they appeared quite comfortable. Maybe because they have been playing together for so long and know one anothers game ? Farrah weighed in with a steady and very responsible game which countered some of Marshall's flair. Moltzen as a ball playing full back was terrific and helped also. Ahh, there appears to be some balance in the force.

Credit where it is due, Benji great effort last night, sitting in the stand watching his attacking flair was a sight to see, missed this for some time great to relive it again.

yeah that's what I thought, which explains why things clicked in attack and Benji took the line on

Took the words out of my mouth.
Pitty Rugby League isn't played like that every week. When it is there's no denying Benji is great to watch, but unfortunately the sport he plays isn't touch football which that game turned out to be.

Hopefully he will show more of that next week. He was electric in the second half.

His consistency will be the only thing that stops him from going down as a true great.
I swing like hell but know full well that I won't win the fight, but big man I'm the beta male that's gonna ruin your night...

Finally had players running lines and angles, as well as some speed on the wing, makes a huge difference. We were so flat against the Bunnies it's not funny. Huge improvement last night not only from Benji, but the rest of the team supporting him.

Why were we so flat?
Ill tell you why, because unlike Parra, Souths defence is rock solid and they controlled the ruck not letting us get quick play the balls after quick play the balls. They were solid in the middle and the Tigers weren't able to get any forward momentum, every time we shifted the ball Souths presented a solid line and we just crabbed and self imploded.
