Adam Blair/Matt Bell

Post by avocadoontoast » Fri 17 Aug, 2012 10:06 pm

Is it time to start considering having Matt Bell start in place of Blair? Silly penalties, low workrate, poor ball control. He's becoming more of a liability every week.

This same topic was raised last week but the OP was flamed for it. From memory one poster incredibly stated that Blair would be the "first player picked" for the game against the Dogs and that the person who commented on Blair's less than impressive form was a "very poor judge of footballer". Surely that view cannot be upheld by any self respecting (or sane) rugby league fan after tonight's performance, can it?

Bell was good tonight. He needs to be given the chance to run out in the starting 13.

I fail to see the value in Blair.

I have defended Blair all year but tonight was the last straw for me. A week in reggies if we are serious.

He started the game really well and I thought for a moment we were going to see a breakout performance, then it was back to same old same old.

Agree, he constantly gives away ridiculous penalties and his constant attempts to put the shoulder on a player instead of wrapping them up has cost us more than once this season

Actually ambostu you bring up a great point. He tried to put a shoulder onto Reynolds in the lead up to the Tolman try and Reynolds got the ball away and bounced away and stayed on his feet, if he had have tackled Reynolds to the ground he wouldn't have been able to get back into the play and set up the try. Smart footballers never let a player stay on their feet after they offload. Novice play.

We all know Blair is a dud and will never ever be dropped. Reputations are at stake.....

Best thing Blair has done all year was break lote's arm to get Marika into the team.. Anyone else see how Blair collared Pritchard on their second try? Brought him down from behind while he was trying to support reynolds. He's a complete dog.

Those who defend him cannot deny this - he does not play tigers football. I'm scared with the blokes we have coming in next year we'll move back further from the brand that bought us success

I wish we'd bought Sika Manu instead of Blair. Always rated him better.
Sooner or later, next year has to be this year - Ricksen

He doesn't have the heart of a Neil Pringle or John Donnelly (RIP). Ahhh the good ole days.

Like a few other people he did some good stuff early and then went into his shell. I don't get it. Was he playing long minutes at Melbourne?

Maybe he's not just an 80 minute player and is conserving energy? Cause he's done it a few times this year. Made some strong runs early then goes missing for minutes 20-70.

The only thing Ill give him is despite what people say , he does chase every ball, or every break in attack and defence.

He did some good things tonight, but that penalty was inexcusable, he did the same last week.

Its funny how all the people who come to Moltzen's defence claiming they only do it cos they are sick of the constant crap he receives never come to Blairs aid. Blair cops just as much yet they never say boo. Funny that
