Does Nofoaluma Deserve to Play SOO?

Unread post by WestsBenTigers » Sun 05 Mar, 2017 8:42 am

Does anyone think that Nofo might be considered for origin this year?

Maybe he can replace Mansour.

If he keeps playing like he played against souths IMO it is a no-brainer for him to play for NSW.

Yes. He has issues with his defence but I think that is made worse by his inside players. Moses was pretty ordinary defensively against Souths.

His attack though is unreal. The metres he gets coming out of our half are unbelievable.

Mansour is the better player. He wont replace him bar continued injury. However theres no doubt Noffa could handle it.

If he keeps up the form he had at the back end of 2016 which he continued into Friday night then he'll be in the frame. It will depend whether they go for specialist wingers or try to cram the likes of Teddy, Dugan, Ferguson, Trbojevic and Hayne into the back line wherever they can.

I'd be very surprised if at least one of the spots wasn't taken by a fullback.

Nofo had a wonderful game last night and had a good back end to 2016l.

But there are still massive flaws in the kids game.

Poor decision making in defence.

Generally terrible under the high ball.

Until he fixes those two things, talk of him being part of a Big 5 or playing Origin is being way too kind to him.

Theres plenty of doubt Nofa would handle it. Thurston would have field day putting high kicks to Nofa's wing.

I'm totally confident in Nofas ability under kicks. His only problem is Kev. Playing outside a top class centre would fill him with confidence and he'd kill it.

I think he is a long way down the list... NSW Selectors will have one of the toughest picks ever fitting in Teddy, Hayne, Dugan, Fergurson, Bird, Moylan into their Back 5.

Plus I'd suggest a Morris, Roberts, Trbojevic, Leilua, Jennings would be in front of Nofoaluma?

But you never know. NSW rarely have any clue what they are doing!

The only way Ferguson and Dugan won't be in the backline is if they're injured.

We'll they're both rubbish

It is probably best if Nofo is playing for the Tigers, but he would be useful for NSW

If Nofo keeps improving year on year like he has been, he can totally be at that level. He's still a bit dicey in defence but so is Uate and that bloke played 5 Origins.
