Starting Lineup (Barring Injuries)

Post by sheer64 » Mon 29 Oct, 2012 1:56 pm

I know it is a long ways away, but just my thoughts based on our current player roster.

1. Tedesco
2. Utai
3. Ayshford
4. Lawrernce
5. Koroibete
6. Marshall
7. Anasta
8. Galloway
9. Farrah (c)
10. Woods
11. Blair
12. Fulton
13. Sironen

14. Murdoch-Masila
15. Bell
16. Pettybourne
17. Moltzen
Today we saw a true champion in Winx, and a true bludger in Cleary!

Potter is already making noises suggesting Miller will be halfback and Anasta lock. Also Lote might get the nod ahead of Utai. So I'm more thinking the lineup will be:

1. Tedesco
2. Tuqiri/Utai
3. Ayshford
4. Lawrernce
5. Koroibete
6. Marshall
7. Miller
8. Galloway
9. Farrah (c)
10. Woods
11. Blair
12. Fulton
13. Anasta

The bench is a mystery and I'm not sure if Potter is a 4 forwards on the bench man or not. Also his attitude to Moltzen is unclear. I think Curtis Sironen would be good off the bench to start the season.

Yossarian, a very good line up except, I do not know Tuquiri is up to another year if judged by his normal high standards. Ayshord hopefully like Blair will improve this year.On the bench we have Moltzen, Curtis Sironen,Pettybourne,Thomson and Bell.

Lote is not signed for 2013...

Hence his position being shared at this stage. If he does get re-signed he's a pretty fair shot of being in the starting line-up. BMM will be on the bench. I'm not naming a bench for the reasons I outlined above.

Not my selections necessarily, more a guess of what team will line-up. If he gets signed again it won't be to play state cup.

The bench is a mystery at this stage. I'll have to take a look at what benches Potter picked in the UK. I'm hoping for at least 3 forwards (say BMM, Ed Pettybourne, Bell) with maybe Curtis Sironen for the other spot. Personally I think he offers more from a bench position to have a game turning impact than say Tim Moltzen who can cover a lot of positions in the backline.

I would be suprised if Moltzen and Tedesco where in the side. Moltzen should not be in any side.

Assuming everyone trains and works hard in the off-season here's a selection based on very little.
We are light on for props and overly supplied with small loose forwards who are good ball players. Really, at most 2 of Fulton, Sirro and Anasta should be in the 17 but who do you leave out. it's the same as when we had Fulton, Dene, Heigho except I think Siro and Anasta are better than Dene and Heigho.

1 Tedesco
2 Utai/ Tuquiri/ Nofoluma(?)
3 Ayshford
4 Lawrence
5 Koriobete
6 Benji
7 Miller
8 Galloway
9 Robbie
10 Woods
11 Blair
12 BMM
13 Fulton

14 Anasta
15 Siro
16 Pettybourne
17 Thompson/ Fotuika (?)/ Bell/ Utai
Madgic!

As long as Moltzen lines up in State Cup I am happy.

I hope someone like Tim Simona has a great offseaon and put pressure on Ayshford.

Also I hope Blair puts on weight and also put on notice that he needs to perform.
Living the dream and praying for another premiership

Not a chance. BMM will be along way ahead of Bodene Thompson.

I think Sam Simona should at least be on the bench as the reserve back. He is a more than capable fullback, centre or winger.

I know I stick up for Moltzen too much but he will be somewhere in the team.
Most tries plus most line breaks in 2012 will see him start.
