Halfback

Post by Frank the tank » Sun 17 Mar, 2013 6:12 pm

I know it's early days, but I think miller will be pretty good. If he gets a fair dinkum crack at halfback for the rest of the season, well he could be anything.

Certainly better than last year at that position.
I'm not a complete idiot.............there are some pieces missing!

He had some good touches, and scored a nice try. Hopefully he isn't too badly injured and he can continue to improve and Potter can help develop him into a more dominant role over the coming months.

looked really good when he ran the ball and put his body in the line in defence

Kids got talent, but needs to bulk uo 5-8kgs to play 1st grade...I was surprised he didnt do so in off season.
Just too attractive a target for oppostion attacks to roll over the top of,plus weve got one of these already in the 6 jersey

I said last week give the kid a chance, I mean did you think Manly were going to drop Cherry Evans after 1 full first grade game? he will get better and better and he is a REAL halfback not a Sheens special

i loved how when he DID get the ball from robbie, he stood at good depth and he obviously knows how to use his forwards... give this guy some ball FFS

Agreed, last week was a bad game to judge him from, our forwards got completely dominated and we had no ball at all. It's hard for a halfback to do anything when they have so little ball, and when they do have it, they have it deep inside their own half with forwards out on their feet. Andrew Johns would've been useless for us last week playing halfback.

he needs to eat whatever maraki is eating and put on some kgs. Got rag dolled a bit out there today. But his game and input is improving ten fold each week. be great to see him in 5-6 rounds and then look back to last weeks performance and say to the doubters "see, told you so"

He weighs in at 85kg, 3-4kg wouldn't go astray. But he and benji are actually not a half bad defensive pair. Benji has copped a lot of criticism for his defence in previous years, and rightly so. But he has lifted his defensive game to another level. Albeit from liability to solid, it means that teams will eventually learn that benji is not the go to man to make breaks on. Lawrence probably will be, a lot of missed tackles from him i believe.

Miller is also decent in defence, has heart and puts his body on the line. At worst he'll slow the player down, not like some tackles from moltz where he barely stops the attacker moving. Also, several women have commented on how good looking he is, so that is a definite plus :D

Miller did well to score his try, he had a solid game as well for his level of first grade experience, I hope he isn't too badly injured and get another go next week.

Solid game, the side looked a little lost when he was off.
Hopefully the ankle pulls up alright and he can continue to build on the combinations and in confidence

Definitely his best game in first grade and no surprise it's the game he gets the most ball. He really has a go, not many halfbacks would have scored that try...and sadly not many tigers.

His injury is fairly minor, will be touch and go for Friday but either way the signs are good from him

Huge Miller fan, Still a long way to go for him

Structures don't happen overnight and there's a lot for him to learn

not just playing NRL level, but being in a spine with Benji and Robbie

Looks to me like Benji quite likes Miller. Thankfully.

I'm far from sold but at last we saw he play a decent game. I want to see improvement from him but if he keeps performing like that I'll soon be sold.
