Very concerned that there is a long term contract and an apparent long term injury
Insurance would cover anything permanent
This is the near-million dollar question. Does anyone know for sure whether it is a pre-existing injury or not? If he had this neck problem when we signed him it would surely be a case of "buyer beware" and WT would be left to pay him out of our salary cap if he is forced to retire.
A massive issue if McQueen doesn't fully recover IMO.
Not pre-existing in that it happened this year after McQueen had signed...Insurance Companies seem to find a way tho..

Hopefully McQueen makes a full recovery anyway...

Signing any player is a risk..look at Rory Kostjasyn suffered a career ending injury in pre-season training without even lacing on a boot in anger for the Knights..

Good to know. Wouldve been a huge concern if it was pre-existing.
Best of luck to CM on his surgery and hopefully he can be a solid player for our club in the coming years.

Yeah as Geo said I think we're safe it does happen though. Pretty sure it happened to Jason Culina in the A-League when he left Gold Coast United for Newcastle. Big blue about whose insurance covered him for a knee injury sustained at GCU.

If I ever feel in need of a good dose of negativity I visit the forum.

There's every chance that Chris will be fully fit come round one next year.

Besides, half of you guys thought he wouldn't add anything anyway.

Let's just see how it all goes.

Hopefully he makes a full recovery from the surgery. Not so fussed as to whether he can play again as opposed to his long term health.

He will make a full recovery I had similar surgery years ago. Recovery is highly likely and reinjury would be career ending however, it's not an injury that would slow you down physically more mentally. I believe Brent Tate had a similar issue. I stopped playing life's too important to risk your health. Claim the insurance and retire.

Any surgery on the neck is a worry, my specialists will not touch mine and when i complain that footballers appear to have them all the time so WHY cant i he tells me they will regret the decision in the future and cannot understand some specialist taking chances ???????

I'm no spine surgeon but it sounds a little more serious than a tat removal..

Great news it was a complete success...

Good to hear, though in McQueen's case the tat removal could actually be worse! Speaking of tats, what on earth was he thinking? Who gets a bunch of leaves printed all over their chest!

Not thrilled about this signing or this news.

Chris played his best football 3 years ago.

Hopefully this injury has been sorted although it doesn't look a straight forward one.

McQueen recently tweeted a reply to someone who had a similar op and he said he was coming along just fine.

I still think if he gets back to full fitness he'll be in our pack. He played for quite a while with this injury and only really got the op because the Titans were no realistic chance for finals so I'm thinking it's not career ending unless the op went wrong.

I'm wishing him good luck and a speedy recovery
