448 pages and we are concerned about the definition of role models

Signing some bloody quality footballers so we don't finish in the bottom 4 yet again would be nice , wouldn't it

Focus people , focus

It takes more than being good at sport to be considered a role model particularly when the group of people you are referrimg to are often not much older than kids themselves.
Young men will all mostly make mistakes and social media gives a forum for all those who have short memories to go hell for leather.
A bit rich banging on about the good role model tag when we have a new player at our club who has been given a second chance, and is now being embraced as our new enforcer.
You're ignoring the definition of the term.
Yep - and I hope our recruitment dept is doing the same. Or we can take the high road and convince ourselves that the bad :role model " tag is a good reason for not being able to sign quality players like our stronger opposition clubs do.

Twisting my words does not change the fact that players are role models, good or bad.

We should be getting in among the Sharks' juniors with all the money being spent at the top end (as is the preferred method of the coach).

We need to lose the no DH policy , but if we are we need to sign quality

Reynolds ain't quality , Packer is solid but needs to back the 1st half of this season up

Cant be bothered twisting your words nor do I care about the definition of terms and how that relates to signing quality players.
Good or bad role models will always be open to interpretation regardless of a definition in terms in the dictionary and I hope for our sake it never becomes a reason/excuse for not signing a quality player especially when other clubs are willing to!

We have a solid but very deep squad at most positions:
Front Row: Packer, Mats, Twal, Sue, Grant, Felise
2nd Row: ET, McQueen, Lawrence, Aloai, Eisenhuth, MCK
CTW: Nofa, Milne, Suli, Fonua, MWZ, Thompson, Marsters
Fullback: Tui, Kev
Halfback: Brooks, Benji
5/8: Reynolds, Gamble
Hooker: Liddle, Mcilwrick

No real stars in this group but with 2 more to get on the bus hopefully we get a couple of solid starters. We will challenge for a bottom 8 spot and if other teams get injuries our depth will be a huge asset.

Considering we've signed Packer, who rubs a lot of people the wrong way, I'd say your criticism is unwarranted.

Yes - and so players like Moylan and Pearce should not be an issue when you start discussing the effects of role models on young fans when we have already welcomed Packer should it ?

That's for the club to decide.

We've lost Mateo Tatola our only NSW Under age rep from both HM squads from last year to the Bulldogs.

Big League really rapped Thomas Mikaele as a possible bolter in the WT's season breakdown for FG in 2018 and beyond

Anyone know what the Beasts contract situation is ??

He is one of the four development players signed to 3 year contracts (I believe).

Sporting news is reporting Mansour wants out of the panthers. Would he be worth a look?
I have family in Balmain and the Western suburbs so i guess that makes me a Balmain Westie
