I don't think we need to be rushing in to anything, the market still has plenty of turns ahead. Over at Penrith they are stacked with good young forwards like Nick Lui-Toso, Kaide Ellis, Moses Leota and Jack Hetherington. It seems pretty likely to me that they'll be looking to move on Tamou and Merrin to free up cap space given they can easily replace them with cheaper juniors. Merrin relies on minutes to justify his pay packet and they just don't need that many minutes out of him - he'd still be a good buy for the right team. Tamou offers nothing more than a name and a reputation as far as I'm concerned but there's a fair chance a dopey club like Newcastle would pick him up on good coin which would make them less competitive on other signatures.

There is also the halves situation at Penrith. Once Nathan Cleary decides his future Tyrone May and Jarome Luai will likely decide theirs. Regardless of whether we need either of them any player movements like that have a ripple effect that can throw up other players unexpectedly.

There is also the 2nd row situation at the Roosters with Crichton, Cordner, Radley, Matterson, Aubusson, Butcher etc...something has to give there because none of those guys are going to be happy playing reserve grade.

Corey Norman, Bevan French, Chris McQueen, Lachlan Coote, Ethan Lowe, Leilani Latu, Bryce Cartwright, James Segeyaro, Isaac Luke, Ben Barba and Corey Oates are just some of the other players that look likely to change clubs before 2019 kicks off. Regardless of whether any of those players would be value signings for this club their movements will all have an impact on the rosters of other clubs. We want to be in a position to capitalise on that.

Thanks Jirskyr and Demps for replying to my post.. Roberts-Davis is a bit bigger than JAC and a bit faster. I

I believe our younger players will really come on now leading up to next season. Like most years, many of our answers in terms of filling NRL vacancies will have to be found from within. Mikaele at 13 and Smith in 4 look good to me.

If we are going to build on this year we need two class players, one back and one forwards as a bare minimum, and I guess that is what they are trying to do

Pom are we chasing any significant names or just players for the ISP team?
Don’t expect anything till the season ends. Majority of targets are still contracted. Things will make sense once announced & if we can get these 2-3 good names over the line.
Be interesting to see who they are if we do get these deals over the line. I'm probably way off but kapow would be my guess for one of these contracted players.

If what Pom said is correct (and I don't doubt it), the players we are chasing are still under contract. Obviously no announcements can be made at this point.
People are just so impatient.
Chill.

Macqueen for Ethan Lowe? I heard he's being moved on but not sure if he's off contract.
POM said MacQueen leaving would work in our favour.

I wouldn't want Lowe here, he offers nothing that we need. It would just be like having MacQueen back again, playing in reggies.

I'm not a huge fan of Lowe, but he would be a definite upgrade on McQueen.

POMS tip. Don't think he's ever given anything but good info.

Just looked up how old Lowe is - 27 years old. Thought he was older!

I'd take a chance on Lowe, a big mobile, mongrel style back rower, who runs good lines out wide .. and he can kick goals. He certainly would an upgrade on McQueen .. probably got more ink than McQueen too .. lol

McQueen is clearly not in Ivan's plans and he knows it. If he gets an offer he's basically free to go.
