and some on here are saying we should never hope to get 2-3 players the quality of mbye, and then u look at that side go give ur selfs a good upper cut and wake up.
Yeah mate, because in one season we can go from a club that perenially signs no one to instantly recruiting 3-4 Origin level players. And you can't believe his commentsbp tiger wrote: ↑Sun 02 Sep, 2018 11:52 ami cant believe ur comments, HOW MANY MBYE TYPE PLAYERS DO U EXPECT TO SIGN EVERY YEAR. well considering we have let heaps of player go, i would have thought 2-3 and a couple more just below his range. no wonder the clubs got no ambition if they think like u.jirskyr wrote: ↑Sun 02 Sep, 2018 11:28 amWhat a sad and sorry thread this has become in the last few days.
Why aren't we being kept informed? Why aren't we making plays for big-name players?
For starters, nobody here knows exactly who we are and arent making a play for.
Secondly, any expectations that we might be signing good players within days of the end of our season are high to unrealistic. We already signed Mbye early and I just don't get how many Mbye-type players people expect to sign every year.
The team is 1 place off the finals. It's very realistic that the exact same roster can continue to improve (since 2017) and make the finals. Sure a quality footballer or two would help, but I get the impression some folks are too absorbed with the last-round hammering, completely ignoring we comprehensively defeated the same side about 6 weeks earlier - i.e. it can be done.
But the comments about "being informed" - do you not remember years gone by where we were linked to every footballer off contract, and then you got disappointed because most of those didn't pan out?
Who cares if Tevita Pangai toured Newcastle and were werent mentioned. That doesn't mean anything. Those same journos had Pangai verbally committing to Broncos just a few weeks back - i.e. journos are regularly wrong and thing change rapidly in footy.
Just such an alarm from some people and the offseason is 3 days old. I'm not saying "be patient", because you obv arent patient, just be realistic about how long the offseason is and what us possible wrt recruitment.
It is not that the club don't have ambition, as you put it, it's just that real ambitions take time to realise. If the club cried everytime they didn't get what they wanted, as you're doing, then we'd definitely get no players.

That team is literally better than us in every position on the field.
Ferguson has something like 25 line breaks for this year. That is more than our entire backline combined for the season. He also is bigger and faster than everyone of our backs. IT is dissapointing we didn't make a play for him. If he was willing to go to Parra, then he would of probably heard offers from us.2041 wrote: ↑Sat 01 Sep, 2018 6:28 pmIf that's the best list you can come up with of signings the Tigers have missed out on I'm not remotely bothered.bp tiger wrote: ↑Sat 01 Sep, 2018 9:44 amgee some people on here come up with crap, trying to cover the clubs failure to sign players, the best been players still in the finals, WELL it didnt stop these players been named,
Ferguson to eels
ramien to knights
glasby to knights
sims to dragons
lee to knights
crithen to roooters
not to mention every other player who has changed clubs the name i dont see is the TIGERS signing anyone.
Ferguson has had a good season but he's hardly a game changer.
Ramien looks promising, would have been good to see him at the Tigers. But he's had one season in first grade - everyone on here is always moaning about signing "promise".
Glasby is absolutely bog average.
Sims is a decent bench prop.
Lee is a fringe first grader/backup winger.
Crichton was done a year ago - the Tigers have made a marquee signing more recently.
As a whole, everyone of those players would have at least improved our squad in some capacity.
That team is quite obviously rorting the cap. There is no 'management' of the salary cap that fits 8 current/very recent SOO players inside of it.kingbrooks wrote: ↑Sun 02 Sep, 2018 3:40 pmThat team is literally better than us in every position on the field.

Compared to our signing power they've done terrible.851 wrote: ↑Sun 02 Sep, 2018 1:59 pmGuerra has been good, and Ramien is coming, he is a huge buy, and Pearce has been in near career best form for a large chunk of the season, Connor Watson was good until he got hurt as well
At least they havent shot their cap tho.
