Kelly is OK in attack but a lot of Manly's defensive woes on that side of the field are directly caused by him getting himself out of position, or making the wrong decision. He is still young, has has potential but if he has been signed I can't see him ousting Fonua/Marsters.

Mybe will be offered 3 years by us matching the 2 years he has left at the Dogs. ...it will be paid over 3,5 years some out of this years cap to lessen the hit over the 3 years similar to what the rorters did with Maloney a few years ago should the Dogs and Mbye agree...
That would be wise.

So that means were offering around 650-700k a season? When i first read a paragraph about it i thought we were nearly paying under a mill. Nearly had a heart attack haha

Maybe, because their Clubs want to keep them.

Maybe they don't want to move away from their families and friends. Maybe their clubs are offering them good contracts and the prospective of game time and development under top coaches. Maybe they want to go to a team which makes the finals regularly? Maybe we don't offer as much as other clubs.

Ethan Lowe insights for 2019.
Has been bog average this year. Why do we sign players that are past their peak & not wanted by his current club.
Correct he has gone off the boil big time this year, now starting from the bench.
Whether he has the sookie la la’s because Hess is getting a start in front of him, but he is nowhere the player he was last year.
Cut him some slack , he has had either 2-3 HIA's this season from memory
How many more before he is finished? That many injuries in 10 games suggests he has a health or technique problem

Would chase Isaako or Pearson from the broncos. Staggs and sebashski have been talked up, but are potential not proven.

Lowe is probably an improvement on Rochow, but not someone you would commit a substantial amount of your cap to based on age and recent form.

From the rumours I've read, the situation appears to be like this... From 2017 to 2020, MBye was on $3m over 4 years at the Dogs, but the contract was backended. So not $750k a year, maybe something like per year $600k, then $800k, $800k, then $800k. That's why our offer for three years (something like $500 a year, so $1.5m over three) almost matches his next two years at the Dogs ($1.6m over two).

If we get him, at him taking less, we know we have something special, as the thought of someone taking LESS to come to the Tigers is mind-blowing, and will do wonders for our recruitment.

Taking a closer look at Brian Kelly tonight. Good first half from him. Has been battered a couple of times through hospital passes, but i can see why Ivan signed him. His head is in the game at all times, always pushing up in the right spot either looking for the ball, defending or attempting to shut down a kick. Nice to have a Koori fella on board too.

The player doesn’t get less, he gets what he is owed contractually. He is just being paid by two clubs until his contract expires

He might get less. He is only owed contractually if he plays pursuant to his contract. He won't be playing for them so what he gets paid by the Bulldogs will be determined by the terms of the release he negotiates, which will be a new contract between the parties...
