The COE will only bring us into line with other clubs, it wont be some huge advantage. Fremantle in the AFL have a new COE whch is regarded as the best in any sport in Australia, they still cant make the finals.

The losing mindset needs to change.

knights team gonna be fire next year, contenders for the premiership :roll :deadhorse: :brick:
years of wooden spoons has not held them back. we have done so much better than them yet our SIGNING ARE A JOKE. work that out.
i mean, the moses mbye signing was decent i guess?
it is a great signing but its just one, we have loads of cap and we really need a gun center and 2 more very good forwards, the knights are why in front of us in regards to signings and what they have stated who they want, its just becoming a joke.
Very poor thus far and can only hope that POM's info comes through.

Staying at the same resort as a recently forced retired WT player that I think is still employed there. He is with his Mrs and three kids, so I won't be rude, but will try and get some insight if the chance arises.

He got punted before he even put a foot in the door didnt he?
Yep, Jason Taylor if memory serves me correctly.

And we still got to top up his contract for three years running

when did we have Takairangi
JT told him to move on even before he played a game for us.We then had to subsidise his contract at parra another masterstoke from JT
Then signed Ballin.

Thompson and mbye were good signings, but imagine if we signed someone like Ponga :o

Matterson and Mbye signings are a step in the right direction compared to previous years imo. Hopefully it continues with at least a quality centre and prop added for next season. If I remember correctly pascoe said on twitter we'd like to have the signings all done by December.
No more plodders!

I agree, won't be an advantage. Put's us on even footing. As long as we're paying overs because blokes are concerned about their athletic development, then we'll have issues competing under a cap system. It's simple maths.

Rather than a generic statement of 'losing mindset', how do we improve our signings? Anything tangible?
I honestly think the coach, team and management have a great attitude. Can't see a mindset issue.

Use the forum's search function top right, do an advanced search for posts by THE POM. Then read them in reverse chronological order, and you'll be filled in to the latest.

You get smarter people running the club.
Not people who ignore modern stadia for outdated grounds.
Not people who think re-signing old, used by legends is a good idea.
People who can engage rich supporters of the club and get them involved, get them on the board.

Just a few ideas of a middle aged chippy with no sports management experience.

What exactly have we done that impresses you over the best decade?
We're just doing the same crap we've always done as far as i can see.

Feki would be an amazing get. Him and nofa would go great guns for us.

A fit Merrin at the right price would be okay. He’s had too much drama at the panthers and I reckon a new club might do him good.
How soon we forget Cory Thompson's efforts this year..
I love Corey Thompson , the guy is a legend and plays above his weight. But you look at what some wingers are doing today with the metres out of dummy half and the tries they are scoring, Thompson will never give you that. Yes he’s safe and yes he’s consistent, but wing has become a very important position these days.
He scored the match winner against easts.
And that was a ripper of a try.

Brad Takairangi supposedly told he can leave Parra if he gets a deal elsewhere.A big strong body that can play second row and centre.
Wouldn't say no to Takairangi, he goes good.

To the post above.... The Salary Cap is there, but some clubs are spending millions more than others due to the quality of their TPAS.

Roosters also have no juniors but they attract players based on their location and the fact they can pay a bit more with TPAs. So its not really even.
Who wouldn't wanna live at Cambo! You get to dine at Hooters.

Give me Cambo over Bondi any day.
There’s a Hooters at Penrith as well.
Can’t say for certain which one I find better though. Only been once to each.

You know your backline is weak when loosing Kev Naqaima causes desperation.
Play the ball & not the man..

Kevin Naqaima was a great addition & servent to the club. Try humble yourself.
You’ve got your opinion on what great service is and I’ve got mine.
I’m not going to say your wrong because it’s your opinion.
I can’t honestly say he was a great servent to the club, he had little to no competition for spots out wide for most of this season or the previous 3.
He had good games just as many as he did bad, that’s what you call inconsistent.
When Kev declared he was heading out the door I didn’t see to many people up in arms about not resigning him.
I’ll try and be more humble for your sake if that helps, maybe you should think about raising your expectations a little.
The attitude that inconsistent players are great servents to the club proves you have grown adept to this losing culture.
I’ll decide for myself who I believe has been a GREAT player for the tigers.
Righto mate, good little yarn 👍
Cheers
